Amazon's inventory capacity keeps decreasing? A large number of sellers' shipments have dropped sharply

Since last year, Amazon’s warehousing policies have been changed again and again, sellers’ storage capacity has been reduced again and again, and shipment volume has also been greatly affected.

Storage capacity was cut again, and sellers' shipments fell by 90%

Recently, an Amazon seller complained on a social platform that his inventory capacity had been cut again, causing shipments to drop by about 90%, which was really unbearable.

There are many sellers who have the same experience as this seller. As the storage capacity has been repeatedly compressed, the sellers are at a loss. Some sellers even said that the goods that can be shipped out of the store are less than one-tenth of the past .

The problem of storage capacity has troubled sellers for a long time. In May this year, a large number of sellers reported that the backend's shippable inventory dropped sharply to 4,500, then soared to 9,000, but dropped to 3,500 overnight. The storage capacity fluctuated up and down, and the mood was like a roller coaster. In order to prevent the sudden drop in storage capacity overnight, some sellers even filled up all the storage that could be built overnight, which was really sad!

As internal competition intensifies, storage pressure is also increasing!

The outbreak of the epidemic has had more or less impact on FBA warehouses in many regions around the world . Warehouses in many places have been frequently overwhelmed, a large number of sellers' goods have been rejected or returned, and storage pressure has continued to increase.

Previously, Canada's YYZ4 was closed for several days due to the epidemic, and various problems such as warehouse explosion and slow listing followed. Recently, a seller said that the goods have not been put on the shelves after entering the warehouse at YYZ4, and he suspected that the reason for this situation was the "sequelae" left over from the previous period.

On the other hand, the injection of a large amount of "fresh blood" into Amazon has intensified competition on the platform. On this platform where nearly one-third of the sellers are from China, not only has internal competition intensified, but warehousing pressure has also increased .

Under the serious impact of the sharp decline in storage capacity, it is difficult for shipments not to be affected. As a result, the situation of sellers has become extremely passive, and they have to choose to reduce prices, use advertising, clear inventory and other methods to increase inventory turnover, but in the end they still find that they are empty-handed.

A large number of novice sellers have entered the market, and the competition on the platform has continued to intensify. More and more experienced sellers have begun to try to switch to other platforms. The industry may face a reshuffle, and many sellers will inevitably withdraw from this big stage, but at the same time, it has also given some sellers new hope. Only the winner can be the king.
