Big move! eBay acquires myFitment to enhance auto parts listing experience

Recently, eBay and myFitment Group (hereinafter referred to as "myFitment") jointly announced that eBay has acquired myFitment. myFitment is an industry leader in providing online technology support to online sellers of auto parts to help them grow their business. myFitment's technology and platform provide powerful, easy-to-use and affordable solutions to help sellers drive sales and avoid expensive returns and exchanges.

This acquisition is an important step for eBay to develop its key auto parts category. By introducing these valuable technology-oriented tools, eBay ensures that eBay sellers and buyers continue to benefit, thereby promoting further technological innovation on the platform. myFitment's tools can optimize the fit of listed models for eBay sellers, ensuring that buyers purchase auto parts that match their vehicles, thereby reducing returns and improving buyer satisfaction.

Chris Prill, Vice President of eBay Motors, said:

eBay has more than 500 million auto parts listings worldwide, ranging from brand new auto parts to hard-to-find vintage and rare parts. We want to improve the user experience for these products, so it is important to provide innovative tools to help buyers find the right parts at the right price.

The integration of myFitment’s proven technology into eBay marks an important step in eBay’s strategy to further advance platform technology innovation. Not only will we optimize the listing process for sellers, but we will also simplify the way buyers browse inventory to find auto parts that fit their vehicles, giving them greater confidence.

Brian Williams, myFitment Chief Operating Officer, said:

myFitment was founded to help online auto parts sellers better connect with buyers through technology tools, increase sales and grow their businesses. eBay is one of the world's leading trading platforms for sellers who want to start and grow online businesses, and I can think of no better partner than eBay to help us bring technology to more auto parts companies and enthusiasts who have been working with us for nearly a decade.

eBay has acquired the myFitment group of companies, which includes myFitment, LLC and Illumaware, LLC. The parties signed and closed the transaction on August 23, 2022.
