In addition, at the 2024 Lazada & Daraz Cross-border Merchant Conference, Lazada announced that it would continue to increase its support plans for merchants , promote the development of projects such as the GlobalPlus project, 3PF localized fulfillment plan, and cross-border brand overseas expansion, and help cross-border merchants seize the largest business opportunities in Southeast Asia at the end of the year.

 

The continuous surge in logistics prices has always been a major challenge for cross-border Southeast Asian sellers. This year, Lazada upgraded its integrated logistics solution and launched the GlobalPlus logistics pricing system and 3PF local fulfillment solution. When it comes to the explosive traffic of Double 11, merchants are facing the biggest business growth opportunity with the support of cost-saving cross-border logistics and efficient local delivery models.

 

1. Cross-border delivery is cheaper

 

In terms of cross-border logistics, the GlobalPlus project is a logistics pricing system tailored by Lazada for cross-border sellers. By providing real money subsidies for first-leg logistics to cross-border merchants , sellers can save logistics costs, improve price competitiveness, and thus increase conversion rates and order volumes. Joining the GlobalPlus project is particularly beneficial for non-light and small-item merchants (especially for goods over 150g). Relying on the platform's large-value international price card subsidies, merchants can reduce their international logistics costs by up to 78% .

 

After a sports protective gear brand joined the GlobalPlus project in early April this year, it saved logistics costs, its overall store sales doubled year-on-year, product exposure increased by 70%, and search clicks soared by 40%, winning extremely high market recognition.

 

Platform data shows that the sales volume of products participating in the GlobalPlus program has increased by 20%-40% year-on-year. The GlobalPlus program can effectively reduce the uncertainty caused by fluctuations in international logistics costs in the preparation for big promotions, allowing merchants to focus more on product preparation and store optimization before big promotions.  

 

2. Localized fulfillment is more flexible

 

In terms of local fulfillment, in order to further empower cross-border merchants , Lazada has launched the Lazada 3PF (Merchant Self-built Warehouse/Third-party Warehouse) model based on the original LGF FBL (Official Overseas Warehouse) and LGF Lite (Official Recommended Third-party Overseas Warehouse) services , providing merchants with a new way to use their own local warehouses and non-Lite third-party warehouses to handle Lazada cross-border orders. The upgraded Lazada local warehouse network solution covers multiple demand scenarios for merchants, and all local fulfillment models have the same commission and rights as local stores.

 

In the 3PF model, merchants can achieve "one store, multiple shipments", that is, the same store can ship locally in Southeast Asia and support cross-border small package shipments, and the local fulfillment order front desk will display local shipping information . At the same time , the return process has also been simplified, that is, the merchant will review and agree to return the goods to the merchant's local warehouse. In this way, the turnover rate and delivery efficiency of the goods have been greatly improved.

 

For merchants with large items, the 3PF model provides an opportunity to sell more large and heavier items. Compared with other logistics fulfillment solutions, 3PF has looser restrictions on size and weight, greatly increasing the variety of product choices for merchants.

 

In addition, the 3PF model also supports one warehouse to send goods to multiple platforms, giving merchants greater inventory flexibility. This allows merchants to open up more sales channels and leverage more new volume without any additional costs.

 

A clothing merchant revealed that in the past they needed to prepare different inventories for different platforms, which was cumbersome to manage and increased the difficulty of allocation. After the introduction of the 3PF model, one batch of goods can be sent to multiple platforms, enabling them to respond to market changes more quickly.

 

3. Multiple incentives to boost brand expansion into Southeast Asia

 

In addition to the comprehensive upgrade of logistics, Lazada Cross-border has also provided a variety of merchant incentives to support new and old merchants to help merchants prepare for the peak season.

 

In order to allow existing merchants to better seize the traffic during the big promotion, Lazada will arrange multiple live broadcasts in the seller knowledge base and official account to prepare for the big promotion. Lazada Malaysia site launched the 2024 live broadcast incentive plan for all LazMall merchants. The platform directly cooperates with well-known top traffic experts to provide merchants with more ways to grow their business. Merchants participating in the plan will enjoy platform subsidy coupons, with the platform subsidy ratio reaching up to 60%.

 

At the same time, the platform also provides a 100 million-level subsidy support plan for new merchants. In order to allow new merchants to get started quickly during the big promotion, new merchants can also enjoy 0 commission for shopping subsidies such as Mega and Double Digit , and the platform subsidy is as high as 100%, and the cost of shopping subsidies for up to three big promotions can be waived.
