About Small Door

Small Door began with a simple goal: to provide exceptional veterinary care for pets while offering a personalized, modern, and convenient experience for pet parents. Today’s typical veterinary practice is outdated. One of our founders learned this firsthand after his boxer, Maurice, developed a mysterious stomach illness. He visited eight veterinary clinics seeking a diagnosis, racking up thousands of dollars in bills as Maurice endured test after test—and deserted waiting rooms. Same-day appointments were rare, and medical records were closely guarded. What’s more, he could never communicate directly with a doctor, either by phone or otherwise.

Small Door Responsibilities

One of the reasons we started Small Door is that vets are often denied the working conditions, benefits, and pay that these heroes deserve.

Our goal is to provide veterinarians with the support and resources they need to perform at their best. In fact, their well-being is built into our founding charter. Their happiness and success are considered in every decision we make.

Small Door is a certified B Corp, adhering to rigorous standards for social and environmental performance, public transparency and accountability.

We are also a public benefit corporation, which means we operate not only to maximize profits but also to make the world a better place in concrete, measurable ways.
