A fatal accident! Amazon and eBay urgently removed this product from shelves

Some time ago, a challenge called "The World's Hottest Potato Chips" was launched in the United States . Challengers need to eat a piece of potato chips that are said to be the hottest in the world.

The outer packaging of this potato chip is a red coffin design with the image of the Grim Reaper printed on it. After opening the package, there is only one potato chip inside.

According to people who have eaten this potato chip, they may experience tears, coughing, or even shouting after eating it. Not long ago, there was even news about a teenager who died suddenly after eating this potato chip.

For this reason, Amazon and eBay urgently removed the potato chips from their platforms. However, only the potato chips sold in the United States have been removed from the shelves, while they are still sold normally in other parts of the world.

However, after media pressure on Amazon, the platform said it would simultaneously remove the product from sites in the United States, the United Kingdom, Europe, and the Middle East.

An eBay spokesperson also said that user safety is a "top priority" and the company has removed information about the product from the platform.

The spokesperson added: “We are monitoring our site closely and if any similar products appear we will remove them.”

At present, the cause of the teenager's death has not been confirmed, but his parents have been calling for an end to the challenge because it is likely to cause harm to human health.

According to Paqui, the manufacturer of this snack , this potato chip contains the "hottest pepper in the world". At first, it was mainly some influencers on Youtube and TikTok who tried this challenge, and then it quickly became popular all over the Internet, and many ordinary people also joined the challenge.

Some believe the challenge has become so popular that some teenagers are following suit and ignoring warning labels on products.

Before being removed from the shelves, this product had accumulated more than 17,000 reviews on Amazon , with a rating of 4.4 stars and a price of up to 35 pounds. It should be noted that this product only contains one potato chip.

Paqui posted a statement on its website Thursday about its decision to remove inventory from U.S. stores. The company said the challenge was "for adults only" and not intended for anyone with underlying health conditions or allergies.

In a separate statement, a spokesperson for Paqui said: "We are deeply saddened by the passing of this teenager and our condolences go out to his family.

"We care about all of our consumers and have decided to remove this product from our shelves."

They said the product's label clearly states it is not suitable for children or people who are sensitive to spicy foods.
