The peak season has come early, has Amazon’s Black Friday event started?

Amazon announced on October 4 that it is launching the "Black   Friday-worthy” events to attract consumers who plan to shop during the holiday season in advance .

Black Friday this year is November 26 , but Amazon said that in order to " enable customers to save big this holiday season as early as possible ," it is offering "deep discounts across categories," including fashion, beauty, electronics , outdoor products, home , pet supplies and toys. In addition, Amazon will add new discount products and activities to the website every day .

Previously, many research institutions have predicted that sales during this year's holiday shopping season will increase significantly year-on-year. However, retailers are also facing a series of challenges this year, including inflationary pressure , supply chain disruptions and labor shortages. For consumers , this may cause many troubles, such as delayed shipments or an increase in out-of-stock items .

Therefore, many retailers are trying to encourage consumers to start holiday shopping earlier than in previous years to ensure that the goods they purchase can be delivered on time. For example , Target announced last week that it will launch a "deal" online and offline from October 10 to 12.   days” (flash sale days) promotions .

On the same day that the "Black Friday-worthy" event was announced , Amazon also launched a new feature in its app that allows Prime members to buy gifts for friends and family without a delivery address . This may be in preparation for the upcoming holiday gift-giving boom. Now, when picking gifts for family or friends and selecting a delivery address, Prime members will see a new option - "Ask the recipient to provide their address." They can then enter the recipient's email or mobile phone number.

The recipient will receive an email or text message notifying them that a gift is coming and can enter their delivery address. If the gift is not what they want, they can also exchange it for a gift card of the same value. Amazon said this feature allows shoppers to avoid missing out on gifts for family and friends without an address, and also avoids the hassle of returning gifts when the recipient receives a gift they don't like.

Amazon announced that starting from October 4, this new feature will be rolled out to all Prime members shopping through mobile devices in the United States .
