Another copyright infringement incident! Temu's T-shirt design is not authorized

Another copyright infringement incident! Temu's T-shirt design is not authorized

Whether at home or abroad, it is common to use other people's original patterns and artworks without authorization.

Recently, British artist Jordan Perkins encountered a similar situation. He found that one of his unauthorized paintings was printed on T-shirts and sold on the Temu platform.

Jordan Perkins said he was surprised when he learned about this.

Someone suddenly sent him a photo, saying that his painting was printed on a T-shirt and that they liked it very much. Perkins said that when he saw this message, his first reaction was: This is a stolen picture, I don’t sell these things.

Perkins then posted on Facebook , saying that Temu had used his work without his authorization. Even more surprising was that within a few days, dozens of fellow artists contacted him, saying that they had encountered the same thing.

Perkins says this is common, and not just in Temu.

To be extra cautious, Perkins compared his work with the pattern on the T-shirts sold on Temu, and became more convinced that this was his unauthorized painting.

Perkins said that in addition to using his own paintings, Temu also kept the prices of the products very low. Even if he printed his own works on T-shirts and sold them, he would not be able to sell them for the price Temu offered.

Perkins took the matter to Temu and expressed his concerns. Temu then sent Perkins a link to the complaint channel, but Perkins questioned the security of the link and the need to provide personal information.

Perkins also said that taking legal action was out of the question because he did not have the money to take on a large company.

So, is there any way to prevent this from happening? Unfortunately, just like the situation in China, British artists have no better solution when they encounter this situation.

It was also suggested that Perkins send Temu a bill for the use of the work, but he felt that approach would not be effective.
