With annual sales of 1.2 billion euros, French e-commerce company ManoMano is making great strides in the DIY market!

French e-commerce company ManoMano reported yesterday that its sales doubled in 2020 to 1.2 billion euros, a year-on-year increase of 100% .

ManoMano's European market share reaches 40%

ManoMano is a vertical e-commerce platform in France that focuses on home decoration. It brings together a wide variety of DIY and home gardening products. The platform's sales categories mainly include hardware tools, garden decoration, architectural painting, and electric heating equipment . Currently, the platform has more than 3,600 sellers and provides more than 100 million products. The website has 50 million unique visits and 7 million active users per month, a year-on-year increase of 70% and 100% respectively.

It is reported that the biggest feature of the ManoMano platform is that it is equipped with professional home improvement masters and has established a fan community Manodvisor to provide online guidance to consumers. In 2020, Manodvisor initiated more than 4 million consultation conversations.

In addition, in 2020, ManoMano accelerated its business expansion in European markets (including Belgium, Spain, Italy, Germany and the United Kingdom), pushing its market share in Europe to 40%.

The UK becomes ManoMano's main development market

In ManoMano's view, the UK is an important development market for it, with a DIY market valuation of 50 billion euros. Data shows that British sellers account for 75% of the platform, and its sales in the UK in 2020 were 105 million euros, a year-on-year increase of 240% . ManoMano said, "The British are DIY enthusiasts. During the lockdown, 70% of residents spent time doing DIY renovations, and 57% plan to do more DIY renovations in the coming year."

This is a huge growth opportunity for ManoMano. In order to promote the UK as its future growth engine, ManoMano will launch more services to help platform sellers and brand stores increase their visibility, while further investing in TV advertising and increasing marketing efforts.

ManoMano——The future of DIY market is promising

In order to provide consumers with the best shopping experience and drive sellers' sales, ManoMano will continue to increase its investment in technology and community building in 2021.

First, after successfully expanding its market in Southern Europe, ManoMano will continue to strengthen its position in Northern Europe. Germany (market value of 82 billion euros) and the United Kingdom (50 billion euros) will become one of the important development markets. Secondly, ManoMano will vigorously support digital channels to accelerate the entry of sellers and brands. Finally, ManoMano plans to recruit 350 new employees in 2021, bringing its talent team to 1,000 people.

Céline Vuillequez, CEO of ManoMano , said: “2021 is the year for us to deliver products and services to our customers (individual sellers, retailers and trading partners). It will be a year of strong growth in all countries, especially in the UK and Germany.

It is understood that ManoMano 's entry conditions include: 1. Have a company license and a French bank account; 2. Have a European VAT number; 3. The number of SKUs should be above 100; 4. It is best to have French/English speaking operators.
