Amazon Great Indian Festival final sprint! More than 1 million consumers buy smartphones

The Great Indian Festival is the largest festival sales event held by Amazon India and one of the most anticipated shopping festivals for Indian consumers .

This year's Great Indian Festival starts on October 4 and is expected to end on November 2. Amazon said that so far, the number of newly registered sellers due to the Great Indian Festival has increased by 50%.

Amazon's Great Indian Festival promotion is coming to an end. According to Amazon statistics, this year's Great Indian Festival sales have broken last year's record. In the first 48 hours of the Great Indian Festival, more than 5,000 sellers achieved sales worth 1 million rupees.

In Amazon's local stores, sales of its products have tripled over last year, with an average of more than 10 products sold every minute.

The most popular categories among consumers are mainly electrical appliances, kitchen, home entertainment (TV), furniture, home, lawn and garden, grocery stores, etc. In particular, smartphones, large household appliances and consumer electronics are more popular among consumers.

Among them, smartphone sales ranked first. Due to the development and popularization of Internet technology in India and the impact of epidemic isolation measures, the local people's demand for mobile phones has greatly increased.

In addition, during the sale, Redmi, OnePlus and PockSockets brands offered large discounts, and Amazon offered discounts of up to 40% as well as additional benefits such as free gift cards, cash back and IME , which further increased consumers' desire to buy.

Data shows that more than 1 million customers have purchased smartphones, and more than 84% of the phones support 5G. Among them, leading brands such as OnePlus, Samsung, Apple, and Xiaomi even set sales records.

Amazon said that throughout the Great Indian Festival, products were offered from more than 20,000 local stores in 100 cities, and more than 100,000 customers purchased Amazon devices, Echo and Fire TV devices, with Kindle sales more than 2.5 times that of the first day of last year's event.

In addition, on the B2B platform Amazon Business, about 360,000 small and medium-sized sellers participated in the event, of which the number of newly settled small and medium-sized sellers increased by 46%. According to statistics, 55% of the orders came from second-tier and third-tier cities and towns.

During the Great Indian Festival, Amazon's voice assistant Alexa also provided convenient services for both buyers and sellers. According to statistics, Alexa answered more than 36 million questions and guided customers to product searches, event stores, transactions, games, product information, etc. on the Amazon app, saving a lot of effort for both buyers and sellers.
