FSN E-Commerce Ventures Ltd, the parent company of Indian e-commerce beauty company Nykaa , which was listed on BSE on November 10, announced on Tuesday that it has partnered with L'Oréal and launched AI-based virtual try-on technology "ModiFace" on its platform. According to the company, this technology will help create a better beauty experience for makeup lovers.
The company claims that the “ModiFace technology” will enable virtual try -on of makeup on Nykaa’s website and mobile app , helping shoppers purchase the beauty products they want across various categories.
The AI-driven technology will reportedly achieve “photo-realistic results and shade calibration.” The augmented reality (AR) simulation of each shade is done automatically — based on an analysis of information provided by makeup brands, as well as visuals and descriptions of the products on social media.
The virtual try-on technology uses advanced facial tracking algorithms to detect lips, eyes, cheeks and hair and apply virtual makeup, providing a real-time, realistic view of the product.
Commenting on the partnership with L’Oréal, Anchit Nayar, CEO, Nykaa said, “With the new AI-powered virtual try-on option, Nykaa customers can now confidently choose from our wide range of options – whenever and wherever they want!”
Pankaj Sharma, Director, Consumer Products, L’Oréal India said, “ModiFace technology leverages AI and AR technologies to provide personalised and customised experiences in a low-touch economy. We are confident that this partnership with Nykaa will transform the e-commerce shopping experience for consumers.”
Additionally, Nykaa has announced that it will launch NA-KD, one of the 20 fastest growing global fashion influencers in Europe, in India tomorrow.
The company mentioned in a statement that NA-KD's debut in India will be available exclusively on the Nykaa Fashion app, website and the Nykaa Fashion store at Vasant Kunj Ambience Mall. Indian fashion e-commerce Nykaa Launch of virtual makeup trial technology |
