In the just-concluded Amazon US Prime Day event, Amazon launched many preferential services for current best-selling products and achieved an excellent result of over 2 million transactions.
“Prime Day is a celebration of our Prime membership, and we’re excited to bring incredible deals to members, whether they’re looking to shop top brands, popular items, or small business collections,” said Jamil Ghani, Vice President of Amazon Prime . “Since we launched Prime Day in 2015 , it’s provided great new ways to shop, give gifts, watch movies and TV, and even go dancing, and we’re excited to continue that tradition.”
Amazon's Prime Day has become a shopping carnival day for the whole world. It provides countless small and medium-sized enterprises with a store that can reach hundreds of millions of customers, and establishes cross-regional commodity services through a powerful logistics network. Tens of thousands of people continue to pay attention to Amazon's Prime Day activities.
However, due to the severe impact of COVID-19 in Canada and India, Amazon officially announced on June 2 that it has decided to postpone Prime Day in Canada and India, while focusing on the safety of its employees and supporting Amazon's customers and sales partnerships.
Just recently, according to Amazon's announcement and foreign media reports, India will hold a two-day Prime Day event on July 26 and 27, while Canada will cancel the Prime Day event.
To compensate Prime members in Canada , Amazon issued a statement saying: "We know that Prime members in Canada love Prime Day, and we will continue to reward members with Prime benefits, including delivery of tens of thousands of items and live TV series, movies and music."
Due to the impact of the epidemic, Amazon Canada closed some logistics centers and decided to cancel Prime Day and give members some compensation activities, but some Canadian consumers are still angry about the fact that Prime Day was postponed.
Dr. Amit Arya said: “If you are sad about Canada canceling Prime Day, you should be more angry than ever about Amazon, which has not provided basic protections like a base salary or paid time off even during COVID-19... while Jeff Bezos makes $2,537 per second.”
“This pandemic is a massive corporate wealth transfer, and I don’t care about Prime Day.”
