British seaports are severely congested and there may be a shortage of holiday toys!

At present, the global supply chain crisis is still ongoing, and the congestion in some local seaports is still not optimistic. Recently, US President Biden delivered a speech that in order to alleviate the serious shortage of daily necessities for the domestic people, the Port of Los Angeles /Long Beach will operate 24 hours a day.

Congestion at US ports has lasted for months, and the cargo transportation situation in Europe is not optimistic. Since Brexit, many jobs are short of staff, and the domestic market is in chaos .

Recently, the UK's largest port, Felixstowe, has been hit by a serious backlog of containers due to a shortage of truck drivers . As the UK's largest port, Felixstowe handles about 36% of the UK's freight volume, and the congestion has also made a considerable number of shipping companies and retailers anxious .

Earlier, according to Reuters, the global container shipping giant Maersk asked some ships to avoid the Port of Felixstowe in eastern England and ordered its super freighters to move to the Port of Rotterdam in the Netherlands or the Port of Antwerp in Belgium.

On October 13, The Entertainer, one of the largest toy retailers in the UK, also issued a warning that severe congestion and freight delays at major ports in the UK will lead to a shortage of toys for this year's traditional Western festivals.

Now that Double Halloween is approaching, containers loaded with toys and electronic products are still unable to dock, which does pose a certain threat to the current British market .

The crisis has sparked widespread concerns about future inventory at a time of year when retailers are already importing large quantities of goods from Asia to sell during traditional Western holiday seasons.

But according to foreign media reports, a member of the British government cabinet said that the situation in British ports is currently improving, and people should shop normally during the Christmas season. This year's Christmas gifts will definitely be shipped, and there will be no situation where gifts cannot be bought.
