Shopee updates four major policies, and there are major adjustments to the site fees in Malaysia and Indonesia!

The import taxes and service rates for Malaysia and Indonesia sites have been adjusted


According to the Malaysian Customs policy requirements, the actual shipment quantity of Shopee's Malaysia Free Trade Zone warehouse (i.e. Malaysia New Warehouse) must be consistent with the quantity declared on the packing list invoice.


If the seller's actual shipment quantity exceeds the declared quantity , the overseas warehouse will charge a 40% customs clearance fee . The customs clearance fee = (actual shipment quantity - declared quantity on the packing list invoice) × product price × 40% . The new regulations will take effect in April.


Therefore, sellers must check carefully before shipping and standardize the shipment to avoid additional costs.


In addition to the update to the new warehouse shipping policy in the Malaysia site, Shopee has also made some adjustments to the service fee rate policy for the Indonesian overseas warehouse .


Shopee said that in order to continue to provide sellers with better services and resources, the following adjustments will officially take effect on May 1, 2021.


The specific adjustments are as follows :


1. General stores: Electronics, Computer & Accessories, Photography, Hobby & Collection, Food & Beverages will be adjusted from 0.75% commission rate; other categories will be adjusted from 0.1% commission rate to 1.6% commission rate

2. Preferred stores: Electronics, Computers & Accessories, Photography, Hobby & Collection, Food & Beverages adjusted from 1% to 1.25%; other categories adjusted from 1% to 2.5%


Changes to the inspection process for product labels entering Shopee's overseas warehouses

In addition to fee adjustments, Shopee also released new regulations on product warehousing and store operations.


Shopee said that starting from April, overseas warehouses at each site will conduct random checks on the consistency between product labels and actual products and store information .


Then the seller must check the product labels repeatedly according to the following requirements before shipping to avoid the wrong shipment due to label errors.


Product labeling requirements are as follows:


Each product needs to be labeled as required;

Ensure that the actual product is consistent with the store information, including product name, specifications, picture color, etc.;

Make sure the corresponding labels are attached to the corresponding products and that the specifications correspond correctly.


In addition, sellers must update their entry materials in a timely manner . It is understood that Shopee will review the seller's store, account and corresponding qualification documents from time to time. The system verifies that the GP in the [Business License Verification Form] needs to update the entry materials, including:


1. The front and back of a valid legal person ID card

2. Original photo of the business license or its copy


Sellers can go to the [Business License Verification Form] to check whether they are on the form. If they are on the form, they must fill in the form in time. Sellers can also upload the operation according to the operation document, and it must be completed before March 30, otherwise it may affect the store's sales authority.
