Bangladesh truck drivers go on strike due to rising oil prices, supply chain continues to be under pressure!

It is the peak shopping season, and many countries around the world are preparing for the holiday season sales. Truck drivers also play an important role in the peak season supply chain. In order to ensure holiday sales, major retailers in the United States have begun to recruit workers in various ways, raising hourly wages and increasing many employee benefits.

Some time ago, the news of rising oil prices caused a lot of outcry among the people. Many countries announced that the oil prices have been raised. In India, the increase in oil prices even forced many car owners to say that if the oil prices continue to rise, they will give up driving and take public transportation.

Recently, there have been reports that truck drivers in Bangladesh have decided to launch an indefinite strike from November 5 due to an 18% increase in domestic oil prices , demanding that the government raise transportation prices to avoid economic losses due to rising oil prices.

Previously, port operations at Chittagong in Bangladesh came to a standstill due to a drivers' strike, seriously affecting the country's container transportation and supply chain; and the recent news of a truck drivers' strike at Bangladesh's port terminals will continue to put pressure on the country's container and cargo transportation during the peak selling season.

Chittagong is the largest port in Bangladesh . The import and transportation of goods in many cities in the country are inseparable from this port. The strike will definitely have a serious impact on the country's container transportation and cargo transportation. In addition, the containers and supply chains of many countries are still under pressure, and the impact of the strike may affect many countries.

During the peak selling season every year, any problem in any link will pose a considerable threat to the supply chain. Truck drivers, as important personnel in port distribution and cargo transportation, undertake important tasks in the entire supply chain. Various problems have arisen against the backdrop of inflation, and strikes have occurred frequently in many countries.

It is hoped that during the peak season, the relevant departments of the country will be able to resolve the problem of truck drivers as soon as possible, restore normal cargo operations, reduce the random parking of containers, and reduce supply chain pressure during the peak season.
