Lazada holds seller conference to support the development of Indonesian SMEs

Recently, according to foreign media reports, in order to welcome the year-end shopping festival which starts on November 11 and ends on December 12 National Online Shopping Day, Lazada Indonesia once again held the 2021 Lazada Seller Conference for small and medium-sized business owners.

It is understood that the 2021 Lazada Seller Conference, with the theme "Level Up - Accurately Melesat", will be held for two days from October 6 to 7, 2021. The opening ceremony will be presided over by Teten, Minister of Cooperatives and Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) of the Republic of Indonesia.

Lazada said that this event is to help Indonesian SMEs meet digital business challenges and succeed in shopping festivals and year-end Harbolnas. At the same time, the event has a certain role in promoting the development of Indonesia's digital economy.

In addition, Lazada stated that Lazada has long been committed to encouraging the growth of local MSME businesses in Indonesia, especially in the digital field. Recently, Lazada closed import access for three major cluster products: textiles and fashion, food and beverages, and handicrafts, in order to provide local Indonesian entrepreneurs with ample opportunities to dominate the market share of the cluster. Lazada also continues to fully support brand partners and MSME sellers to develop sustainably on the Lazada platform through various educational programs, including hosting the 2021 Online Lazada Seller Conference to provide sellers with the latest digital trade knowledge.

Teten Masduki, Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs of the Republic of Indonesia , expressed his gratitude to Lazada sellers who attended the 2021 Lazada Seller Conference event. He hoped that through this event, small, medium and micro-enterprise participants in Indonesia would be able to continuously improve their business scale and product quality, so as to continue to grow and develop.

Teten Masduki , Minister of Cooperatives and SMEs of the Republic of Indonesia, said in a press release: "The Indonesian government continues to encourage the digital transformation of MSMEs. Currently, as many as 15.9 million people are connected to the digital ecosystem, an increase of nearly 100% from before the pandemic. By 2024, the government aims to connect up to 30 million MSMEs to the digital ecosystem."

Meanwhile, Haikal Bekti Anggoro, senior vice president of seller operations at Lazada Indonesia, said the number of sellers joining Lazada has tripled since the pandemic compared to March 2020.
