Second-hand e-commerce company Refurbed opens new site in Ireland! Competing for 10 billion euro market

According to the latest news from RTE, Refurbed, the fastest growing online trading platform in the European refurbished electronic equipment market, has opened an e-commerce platform in Ireland and officially entered the Irish market.

 

Shortly after Refurbed officially entered the Irish market, it announced that it had begun planning environmental protection activities related to St. Patrick's Day. The event will be held during St. Patrick's Day (March 11-21), and the content of the event is that every transaction made by platform consumers on Refurbed in Ireland will prompt the company to plant two trees. This will encourage consumers to pay more attention to environmental issues and promote the influence of second-hand electronic products.

 

"We are committed to protecting the environment, and by purchasing products from Refurbed, customers not only reduce e-waste, but also reduce CO2 emissions by planting trees, " said Wendy Hoff, president of the company. "We are proud to be able to contribute to environmental protection on St. Patrick's Day."

 

Refurbed was founded in Vienna, Austria in 2017 and currently operates second-hand electronic goods business in five countries: Austria, Germany, Poland, Italy and Ireland.


The platform offers more than 8,000 electronic products, and the product catalog covers various top electronic brands such as smartphones, laptops and tablets, including Apple, Samsung, Dell, Lenovo and Huawei, as well as small electronic appliances and home appliances.

 

In March the platform announced it would be launching 120 of its most popular products on its Irish site, with a view to expanding the range in the coming months.

Refurbed is expanding into new countries as Irish consumers become more environmentally conscious and demand grows for better value for money second-hand electronics .

 

Refurbed has raised €18 million to date , including a €16 million Series A round in 2020.

 

The epidemic has changed the working and learning patterns of Europeans. Since 2020, the demand for second-hand electronic products among European households has increased significantly. According to RTE, by 2022, the European refurbished electronics market will exceed 10 billion euros. Refurbed said it will seek to expand further across the European continent.
