Hidden fatal hidden dangers! More than 11,000 products were urgently recalled

Product quality issues have always attracted the attention of consumers, and sellers should also pay more attention to this issue, because once there is a problem with the product, they will face the risk of recall and fines, which is not worth the loss. Although furniture is very popular at present, if there is a problem with the quality, it will also cause trouble.

As people continue to stay at home, they spend more time at home, and children are at increased risk of injury or death from furniture tipping over. Recently, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission ( CPSC ) announced that home furnishing company CB2 is recalling 11,355 chests of drawers because they pose a potential tipping hazard.

The company has received 10 reports of chests of drawers tipping over so far , but fortunately no one was injured. The CPSC said these chests of drawers do not meet U.S. furniture safety standards and if not fixed properly, there is a serious risk of tipping over, which could result in injury or death to children. Consumers should stop using them immediately and contact the store for a refund.

In addition, these chests of drawers are mainly sold in the United States and Canada through online and offline channels, with prices ranging from US$700 to US$850. Due to the popularity of the "stay-at-home economy", these chests of drawers have become increasingly popular.

The recall involves tall chests of drawers with SKU numbers 454-559 and 503-925, and short chests of drawers with SKU numbers 454-060 and 503-904. The tall chests of drawers are 46 inches high and 28 inches wide, while the short chests of drawers are 26 inches high and 56 inches wide.

Due to the common occurrence of furniture tipping accidents caused by poor quality, problematic furniture frequently causes trouble. In all furniture tipping accidents, children are the most seriously injured, and 79% of furniture tipping accidents involve children under the age of 6.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission ( CPSC ) reports that 451 children and teens under the age of 17 were killed in furniture tip-overs between 2000 and 2019. Between 2017 and 2019, an average of more than 11,100 children were injured each year in furniture tip-overs.

There have been cases of furniture with problems being recalled before, and there have been many accidents where children have been injured due to furniture tipping over. This recall is also a precautionary measure and a wake-up call for sellers. In the furniture boom, sellers must stay sober, abide by industry regulations when selling furniture, and strictly control product quality to avoid unnecessary losses.
