Logistics pressure surges during peak season, Amazon reminds sellers to ship on time

As the peak season approaches, many sellers are gearing up to make a big splash, but are also worried about logistics and transportation issues.

On September 29, Amazon US issued an announcement reminding FBA sellers to send inventory in time during the holidays.

Amazon said that to avoid sellers running out of stock during the holiday season, sellers should ensure that their inventory arrives at Amazon logistics centers before the following dates:

Black Friday and Cyber Monday: November 15, with stock ready to ship in mid-October

Christmas: December 11, stock ready to ship in early November

As soon as this announcement came out, sellers were talking about it.

Seller A: Is Amazon Momentum planning to increase the inventory cap to achieve this goal?

Seller B: Can't send any more holiday stock, you guys cut back on seasonal product. Honestly this was an inappropriate post from you guys, it felt a bit like rubbing salt in the wound and then pouring lemon juice on it.

It seems that sellers are not impressed by Amazon’s new policy. This is not surprising. The peak season is approaching, and Amazon’s rules on inventory capacity are still a mystery. The new policy cannot directly alleviate transportation pressure.

In addition, sellers on Amazon's official seller forum reported that the express logistics transportation pressure in the United States has exceeded full capacity. Seller Apai said that the USPS will "purposefully" slow down the speed of many package delivery services , and transportation prices will continue to rise from October 3 to December 26.

Many sellers responded in the forum, expressing their concerns that delivery delays due to transportation pressure would affect their store's sales performance and reviews.

Seller A: Sellers on Amazon tend to overestimate shipping days by 53% compared to how long it actually takes . As a result, sellers set longer shipping times for standard deliveries, and when customers see longer delivery promises, they are less likely to buy.

The editor hereby reminds all sellers to pay attention to cargo orders in a timely manner, arrange the transportation of goods reasonably, pay attention to the transportation time details, and avoid unnecessary losses.
