Buyers can check the order delivery status and delivery time based on the logistics tracking code. The valid tracking rate (VTR) is a performance indicator on the Amazon platform that can reflect these expectations.
It is reported that VTR refers to the percentage of all shipments with valid tracking codes within 30 days to the total number of shipments, and is only applicable to orders delivered by sellers themselves.
Sellers must maintain a VTR above 95%. If the VTR in a product category is lower than 95%, the platform may restrict the seller's ability to sell non-Amazon logistics products in this category. How to improve VTR naturally becomes a concern for sellers.
Recently, Amazon US released an announcement , providing five ways for self-delivery sellers to improve their effective tracking rate. The announcement is as follows:
1. Confirm and update the logistics tracking information within 24 hours after handing the package to the carrier. If the relevant information is confirmed, updated or added after the package is delivered, the buyer will not be able to check the order progress in real time and the order will be marked as a defective order.
2. Verify that the carrier name, shipping service, and tracking ID are entered correctly and that they belong to the same carrier. Currently Amazon does not support Chinese logistics operator names, so manually entering tracking information using Chinese characters is invalid.
3. Purchase shipping labels through Amazon's Buy Shipping service. With this service, sellers can instantly upload and confirm tracking information for all orders. Sellers can also track the delivery status of orders on the " Order Details " page in the backend . This service can also help protect sellers from claims under Amazon's A-Z Transaction Guarantee Policy .
4. Select an Amazon integrated carrier from the drop-down menu on the Order Details page . These integrated carriers will provide Amazon with real-time order tracking status.
5. Tracking ID requires at least one carrier scan to be valid.
At the same time, Amazon also mentioned in the announcement that only orders mentioned in the defect report will affect the review of the effective tracking rate. If a seller's listing is removed due to VTR, the seller can submit an application to the Amazon Customer Service Center.
