Hurricane Ida landed in the United States, and Amazon introduced new policies to reduce sellers' losses...

U.S. meteorologists warned Saturday that Hurricane Ida was strengthening in the warm waters of the Gulf of Mexico and moving rapidly toward Louisiana . Forecasters said the hurricane could reach Category 4 status and make landfall in the United States on Sunday night.

U.S. President Biden said on Saturday that 500 federal emergency responders were mobilized to respond to the storm in Texas and Louisiana. Rescuers were asked to coordinate closely with power companies to restore power as soon as possible. Governor John Bel Edwards said at a press conference : This will be one of the strongest hurricanes to hit anywhere in Louisiana since at least 1850 .

Today, Amazon US issued a new announcement, saying that Hurricane Ida is about to hit, reminding sellers to be careful and protect personal safety and store business operations.

Amazon pointed out that if the order issues caused by Hurricane Ida affect the seller's performance indicators, the seller will receive an automatic warning email about the order performance indicators. When the seller resumes the store business operation, the system will prompt the seller to appeal, and the seller needs to briefly explain the impact on the store business operation. At the same time, Amazon will do its best to mitigate any impact caused by the hurricane on the business operations and account health of the seller's store.

In addition, Amazon emphasized that if sellers do not expect to be able to achieve the level of delivery service, please consider temporarily setting the seller's delivery items to inactive status. Products shipped by Amazon ( FBA) do not need to take any action, and Amazon will handle the messaging of all Amazon logistics orders affected by Hurricane Ida.

While Hurricane Ida has affected American sellers, it will also cause certain impacts and losses to our domestic sellers. It is not difficult to imagine that the hurricane will cause damage to the transportation system and power system in the local area of the United States. Chinese sellers may encounter abnormal delivery problems due to the paralysis of the transportation system or the suspension of express delivery, which will affect the sales of the store. In addition, some unscrupulous buyers may also take this opportunity to deceive sellers and cause losses to the store.

The editor would like to remind all sellers to always pay attention to information about hurricanes in the United States, pay attention to the disaster-stricken areas and the transportation systems, power systems, etc., always pay attention to logistics and communications, guard against fraudulent buyers, and avoid unnecessary losses.
