According to foreign media reports, global shopping giant Amazon has resumed providing free delivery services to Israel.
Amazon said it offers free shipping to Israel for purchases over $65. But only certain items qualify for free shipping, which are clearly marked on the website. Amazon did not provide a time frame for the free home delivery offer.
As early as November 2019, Amazon began offering free shipping to Israel for orders over $49. And because Amazon can offer a variety of products at cheaper prices than local stores, Israelis began buying a large number of goods online, including clothing, electronics, food and even toilet paper.
But the coronavirus in March 2020 wreaked havoc on global shipping channels, and Amazon was forced to end this benefit system.
At the beginning of the pandemic, Amazon even closed its sales channels in Israel. By the summer of 2020, sales to Israel were resumed, but shipping time became longer and freight costs increased. Today, Israel's commodity transportation capacity has basically recovered.
The free shipping standard of $65 is actually a well-thought-out value, because Israeli policy requires that overseas shipments below $75 will be exempt from customs fees.
Israeli sellers and buyers also have expectations. Amazon shopping groups on Facebook have begun sharing tips and precautions for shipping goods to Israel, as well as tips and some product combinations with prices as low as $65.
The re-activation of Amazon's free shipping policy was unexpected by Israelis, but it also received a lot of praise and affirmation. Avi Parshan, who runs the organization The Best Deals in Israel, said that although the minimum price orders have increased, a large number of sellers have returned to the Amazon platform, which is truly "making fun out of suffering."
The release of this policy is also very friendly news to sellers. First, Amazon sellers can reduce a large amount of shipping costs and reduce expenses; secondly, due to the minimum delivery requirement of $65, it will promote consumer consumption to a certain extent, and increase sellers' turnover in disguise. Killing two birds with one stone, sellers on the Israeli site will be secretly happy again. Amazon Israel deliver goods |
