Amazon has introduced new package transportation policies for Chinese sellers!

Amazon has introduced new package transportation policies for Chinese sellers!

Yesterday, Amazon US released a new announcement.

The announcement stated that from August 9, 2021, packages shipped directly to customers from China must meet the following requirements:

1. All packages with a value and shipping cost less than $5 must use a trackable shipping method that includes at least one physical scan by the carrier.

2. All packages with a value and shipping cost equal to or greater than $5 must use a fully trackable shipping method that includes at least two scans, including a delivery scan or delivery attempt.

At the same time, Amazon pointed out that in order to ensure that Chinese sellers meet the new VTR requirements, they can consider purchasing shipping label services through Amazon's Buy Shipping. Buy Shipping will automatically upload tracking information to Amazon to protect the seller's VTR.

In addition, Amazon Europe also issued the same announcement, with the following differences:

1. VTR price changed from $5 to £5

2. For all self-delivered parcels shipped from China, a 95% valid tracking rate (VTR) must be achieved.

3. List the VTR workflow. Sellers can select Account Health from the Performance menu, find the Shipping Performance section, and then click the Valid Tracking Rate option to view the VTR indicators of the product. At the same time, sellers can download the VTR defect report of the product by clicking Download Report.

Also, if there are no orders included in the report, it means that all orders have valid tracking information and will not be counted towards the defect report metric.

Sellers are talking about this. Foreign sellers say that China's standards should be consistent with those in the United States, providing customers with complete tracking scans of all orders or insurance; while for domestic sellers, the workflow is more complicated and cumbersome, and sellers have to spend a lot of energy to deal with VTR policies.

From the announcement of the UK site, we can easily see that Amazon has done a lot of preparation for the new VTR policy, and even decided to generate VTR defect reports from the background statistics. Whether VTR is qualified may become one of the new standards for Amazon store upgrades and products to be added to the gold shopping cart in the future. In the future, merchants with serious VTR deficiencies may even be banned or closed.

Amazon introduced the new VTR policy to provide consumers with a better shopping experience, and Chinese sellers have to put in a lot of effort. The editor would like to remind all sellers that although the work is tedious and complicated, they still need to sell goods legally and in compliance with regulations to avoid unnecessary losses.
