Amazon sellers are crying because of the frequent orders of "refund but no return"!

Recently, many sellers have said that Amazon's order return rate is very high, and no matter what the reason is, they will directly refund, but they cannot return the goods, and the order is considered completed. One seller complained: If this is the case, then customers can get it for free!

 

Many sellers found that this problem of refunding but not returning goods started almost from June 30th. When they consulted customer service, they got the following response: "Since FBA after-sales service is handled by the US customer service team, if they feel that the buyer does not need to return the goods, they will directly refund the buyer without requiring them to return the goods." When they consulted Chinese customer service, the response was also the same.

 

For refund records of "non-returnable" orders, all refund reasons are General Adjustment, not Customer Return.

 

The reasons for "cannot return" displayed on the return interface are also varied, such as: "unwanted goods", "I accidentally ordered the wrong goods", "I found a better price elsewhere", etc. Some sellers said that Amazon actually supports buyers to refund but not return goods for such refund reasons, which is really speechless.

 

Some sellers even mentioned that they only refund but do not return products. Such problems occur frequently, which directly leads to excessively high return rates, removal from Amazon shelves, and violation of Amazon policies. Or they are inspected and have to write a POA. It is really hilarious !


The editor found that the common feature of these "non-returnable" orders is that they are less than 25 US dollars. All orders above 25 US dollars did not have the "non-returnable" phenomenon.

 

In Amazon's return policy, there is no clear definition of "cannot return" or "refund without return", or Amazon updated its refund policy, and the sellers did not receive the information in time, resulting in a large number of "refund without return" orders that caught the sellers off guard and caused heavy losses. I hope this situation can attract Amazon's attention, and give a reasonable explanation and appropriate solution. Only when the platform is open and transparent and the policies are reasonable and standardized can the platform operation be carried out in an orderly manner!
