Another Amazon hit —Eskimo is coming soon!

Amazon launches IPO after selling "Eskimo"

It is reported that on April 27, Hangzhou Eskimo Home Furnishing Co., Ltd. held an IPO launch meeting and equity incentive signing ceremony.

As one of Amazon's best sellers, Eskimo established a cross-border e-commerce division in 2015 and has since officially transformed into a cross-border e-commerce company. The editor learned that Eskimo mainly sells household products. Initially, it was mainly offline, and then it gradually started business on domestic e-commerce platforms such as Taobao and Tmall. It once ranked 10th in the category, and its sales in 2020 exceeded 1 billion yuan!

In 2015, Eskimo launched an "attack" on the US market , and the team size grew from 1 person at the time to 150 people in 2019.

In recent years, Eskimo has never stopped moving forward, and has gradually expanded from a single home textile category to a full range of furniture. At present, Eskimo products have been sold to more than 100 countries and regions around the world. Not only has it opened full-site services on Amazon North America, Europe, and India, but it has also expanded its business to platforms such as Shopee and eBay , which are popular among overseas consumers.

In the first half of 2020, Eskimo successfully squeezed into the top five of Amazon's home textile category, with sales soaring and cross-border e-commerce transaction volume exceeding 300 million.

Eskimo founder Chen Shirong shared his experiences over the years, saying that the initial days were extremely difficult.

Targeting foreigners ' "bedrooms" and leading the home textile industry

In 2016, Chen Shirong confidently launched a cotton four-piece suit, but it received unanimous negative reviews. It was also from then on that Chen Shirong realized that he had to truly understand consumer needs in order to increase sales.

Chen Shirong went to large supermarkets in the United States to learn about the colors and styles that local consumers like. Due to different lifestyles and habits, hot-selling products in China may not be favored by overseas consumers. For example, quilts are not selling well in the US market, plain products are more attractive, and blackout curtains are very popular during the epidemic ...

Improving quality is a key step taken by Eskimos. In order to solve the problem of blanket shedding, Eskimos chose to increase costs, improve craftsmanship, and increase the density of warp and weft lines of the blanks. The improved products are hot-selling on Amazon and have received rave reviews.

From offline to online, and then to cross-border e-commerce, Eskimo is at the forefront. Now that Eskimo is about to go public and the supply chain is gradually recovering, it is bound to attract more sellers to enter the market, and the market competition in the cross-border e-commerce industry will become more intense in the future.
