It is reported that Singaporean fintech company Atome has launched a buy now, pay later service in Malaysia to expand into the Malaysian market . The company claims to have provided services to more than 100 online and offline retailers. In a statement, Atome said that after the company enters the local market, brands such as Agoda, ezbuy, Eu Yan Sang and Hush puppy will adopt Atome's BNPL service as one of the payment methods for customers . In addition, Atome has also partnered with businesses and sellers in the fashion, beauty, lifestyle and fitness sectors to adopt this service , including Obermain, Onikym, Lash Lab, Face Shop, Aprilskin, 176 Avenue, A Cut Above, Swee Lee Music, Novelship, Crumpler, Box of Bricks, Cocomi, Trapo, Liberty Active, Circle DNA, Tribe and Fly Project. Now, Malaysian consumers can enjoy this service by simply scanning the QR code in-store and selecting the Atome option to pay during checkout . The company said that using Atome Payment, consumers can split their bill into three instalments and enjoy zero-interest staged repayments with no additional service or administration fees . According to Atome , it takes less than two minutes for consumers to register an account on the platform and the entire process can be completed using a mobile phone, which is very simple . Atome Singapore and Malaysia general manager Trasy Lou Walsh said Atome's services will not only transform the way consumers shop and pay, but will also support Malaysian retailers and local businesses to recover quickly from the impact caused by the pandemic . Trasy Lou Walsh said : "Providing this convenient payment option can help partners increase order rates by 17% and increase average order value by more than 30%. We recently saw this with Sephora and how they expanded their customer base with Atome's service . " Trasy Lou Walsh said : “After working with Atome payment service , home furnishing brand IUIGA saw its average order value almost double and its transaction volume increase 15 times.” Atome was founded in Singapore in December 2019 and currently works with over 2,000 retailers in markets including Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Thailand, and Vietnam .
