The platform said that in order to help sellers cope with the volatile global e-commerce market environment and form a stable balance between supply and demand, Wish has relaxed the relevant restrictions on price and shipping adjustments so that sellers can control pricing more flexibly.
The updated policy applies to both promoted and non-promoted products , and sellers do not need to apply to join the policy, the policy will automatically apply.
The adjustment to Merchant Policy 2.11 is: The price or shipping cost of a product can increase by a maximum of US$10 (originally US$1, now increased to US$10) or 100% (originally 25%, now increased to 100%) within an adjustment period of 1 week (originally 4 months, now reduced to 1 week), whichever is higher.
However, the policy still prohibits excessive price increases beyond the above range.
Merchant Policy 3.1 is updated to: Prices or shipping costs for promoted products may increase by up to $10 or 100%, whichever is greater, within a 1-week adjustment period.
According to the original policy, the price of promotional products could not be increased , while the updated policy allows price increases for promotional products . However, the price increase of promotional products still cannot exceed the above range.
Pursuant to Merchant Policies 2.11 and 3.1, product prices and shipping charges for both promoted and non-promoted products may increase by up to $10 or 100% of the original price, whichever is greater, within a 1-week adjustment period .
The price increase limits for product prices and shipping costs are implemented separately , that is, product prices and shipping costs can be increased at the same time, or one or the other can be increased. The one-week adjustment cycle starts from the first price increase (for example, October 1). After the one-week adjustment cycle ends (using the start date in the above example, the end date is October 8), the next one-week adjustment cycle will start from the next price increase.
It is worth noting that during the one-week adjustment period, sellers can raise prices at any time and multiple times, but the premise is that the total price increase within this week cannot exceed US$10 or 100% of the original price of the product or the original shipping cost , whichever is higher.
However , the platform still prohibits manipulative pricing strategies . According to Merchant Policy 2.14 "Price Gouging Control Policy", if a seller 's price for certain products is found to be significantly higher than the reasonable market price, he or she may be fined up to $200 per product .
The platform said that this policy is intended to protect Wish's users and trading platform, while ensuring fairness and flexibility for sellers to conduct business on the Wish platform.
If a seller's store is found to have abnormal prices or products with prices that are unacceptable to consumers , the store may be fined additional compensation or have its trading suspended.
Moreover, arbitrary price increases usually make product prices lose their competitive advantage, resulting in reduced product exposure. Therefore, the platform strongly recommends that sellers fully consider the impact on exposure when raising prices and raise prices within a reasonable range .
