Swedish second-hand platform Sellpy expands into the Netherlands and Austria

According to foreign media reports, the Swedish second-hand platform Sellpy has been launched in the Netherlands and Austria today to further capture the European market .

The epidemic crisis has made people pay more and more attention to the environment and sustainable development. Nowadays, the concept of sustainability has gradually gained popularity, and people's demand for sustainable products is also gradually increasing. This has given the second-hand platform Sellpy a huge development opportunity.

The Sellpy platform will use its unique circular business model to promote a sustainable economy and vigorously develop a second-hand platform. In 2019, Sellpy's sales increased by nearly 70% to 197 million Swedish kronor . With the support of various favorable factors, 2020 will also be a year of explosive growth for Sellpy.

As the business of Sellpy platform grows rapidly, it is also expanding the scale of the company. Currently, Sellpy is preparing to hire another 80 employees and build a new warehouse of 10,000 square meters. Now expanding into the international market is also the only way for Sellpy to further develop.

Michael Arnör, CEO of Sellpy , said : The demand for sustainable products is growing steadily and second-hand is a great option. Every second-hand garment purchased saves resources for us. It is therefore exciting that we are growing and giving more customers in Europe the opportunity to trade second-hand .

Nanna Andersen, head of H&M's investment arm Co:Lab , also said she was excited about Sellpy's international expansion.

Sellpy, a second-hand e-commerce company, was founded in Sweden in 2014. Just one year later, Swedish omnichannel fashion giant H&M joined as a minority shareholder. In 2019, H&M invested a total of 180 million Swedish kronor in the company and continued to acquire shares in Sellpy. Now , H&M already owns Sellpy .   70% of the shares, which makes Sellpy officially part of the H&M Group .

Initially active in Sweden and Germany , Sellpy now operates second-hand e-commerce businesses in four European countries . In June last year , Sellpy entered Germany , opening the door to second-hand e-commerce in foreign markets for the first time .

Today , there are also more environmentally conscious consumers in the Netherlands and Austria , and Selly can provide them with a platform to trade second-hand clothing and other products.
