Tik Tok's Ramadan activities: Middle Eastern sellers should learn from them

On Tik Tok, there is a hashtag #RamadanVibes that showcases some of the Ramadan traditions, including fawazeer, sitcoms, dramas and recipes.

“Last year, we saw people embrace the spirit of Ramadan on Tik Tok and come together to celebrate,” said Rami Zeidan, head of video and creative at Tik Tok . “With our community unable to gather with family and friends due to COVID-19 restrictions, Tik Tok became a platform for Ramadan traditions to continue.”

He added: “This year we will build on those traditions and provide a space for celebration, gratitude and entertainment for our creators.”

Tik Tok ’s Ramadan activities include live broadcasts, events and challenges. Here are a few Tik Tok tags that sellers who use Tik Tok as a marketing channel can try to participate in to get closer to consumers.

1. #GuessTheDish , through this interactive test, users can guess the name of the Ramadan dish based on the main ingredients in 3 seconds. So far, this challenge has more than 50 million hits, and well-known Arab figures such as Chef Shaheen and Walid Yari have participated in the challenge.

2. #RamadanCheck , creators can use this hashtag to share their daily activities during Ramadan. So far, this challenge has received more than 188.7 million views.

3. #RamadanMubarak , which is a blessing to celebrate the holy month of Ramadan. Currently, the hashtag has been viewed 2.5 billion times on Tik Tok. Egyptian singer and actor Yousra and others have used this hashtag to wish people health and wealth.

4. #RamadanStyle - Tik Tok creators can use this tag to show off their Ramadan outfits. Fashion influencers such as blogger Nirvana Abdul have shared their Ramadan looks using this tag.

5. #Ramadan_Preps , a hashtag used by Tik Tok users to share how they prepare for Ramadan. To date, this challenge has been viewed more than 358 million times.

In addition to using these tags to increase user activity and interaction, Tik Tok also held a number of live events, including cooking shows, entertainment shows, sports shows, and some celebrity interview shows.

There is still more than half a month left in Ramadan, and Middle Eastern consumers will still shop online during this period, so sellers, come on!
