Big news! Amazon has relaxed its shipping restrictions, and the IPI score has dropped to 400!

Amazon US announced that it has increased the shipping quantity for many sellers in recent weeks and intends to do the same for more sellers early next year.

Not only that, from January 1, 2022, the Amazon Logistics Inventory Performance Index (IPI) score will be reduced to 400. Amazon said this means that less than 10% of sellers will have storage restrictions.

Amazon noted that many sellers have persisted amid the global pandemic , supply chain challenges, labor shortages and inflation , and that third-party sellers, most of which are small and medium-sized businesses, accounted for more than half of total sales during the Black Friday to Cyber Monday holiday sales season.

To thank sellers for their hard work and further promote their success , Amazon said it has been working to increase headcount and expand its logistics network. These investments have resulted in an overall increase in the number of products that sellers can ship during the holiday season.

In response, one seller exclaimed:

“——This is really great news as we were squeezed during the holiday rush (like everyone else)! We had a hard time getting inventory and our IPI is over 700!

——Great! Amazon continues to lower the standards.

- My inventory limit has increased by 50% in the last 10 days. ”

However, some sellers complained:

“——Thanks Amazon, your timing is perfect, right at the end of the Christmas shopping season (when we don’t need it anymore).

—Yes...it's too late to take advantage of them at Christmas."

Some sellers also raised questions: Is this only for the first quarter or is it permanent?

However, it is good news for sellers. In this regard, the editor recommends that sellers pay more attention to logistics dynamics, flexibly make changes to inventory management, and most importantly, do a good job in operations, increase sales, improve sales ratio, and reduce redundant inventory, so as to obtain good inventory performance and more storage capacity.
