According to Seoul Customs, the total value of this batch of products is about 4.1 billion won (about 23.81 million yuan), and the number is as high as 690,000 pieces.
Seoul Customs plans to report and punish importers of these industrial safety products with fines .
It is reported that the method used for this batch of products is to first mark the origin with " MADE IN VIETNAM" , then tear off the label of origin after customs clearance , and then put a label of " MADE IN KOREA " on the packaging , and finally circulate these products into South Korea .
According to data released by Seoul Customs, the number of seat belts disguised as Korean-made reached 370,000, with a total value of about 3.4 billion won ( about 19.74 million yuan ) . In addition to seat belts, there were also about 320,000 helmets without origin marks circulated on the market, with a product value of about 700 million won (about 4 million yuan).
Kim Kwang-ho, the head of Seoul Customs, said , “ Changing the origin of imported goods to Korean products is an illegal act that seriously infringes on consumers’ right to know and causes losses to domestic manufacturers . We will focus on strictly checking the origin labels of goods that are directly related to the health and safety of the people . ”
With the development and progress of technology, customs in various countries are strengthening the inspection of imported and exported goods by adding various technical means, and South Korea is no exception. As convenient e-commerce gradually becomes the mainstream way for consumers to shop, the risk of piracy and counterfeit products also increases. As a seller, you must always pay attention and take it as a warning to prevent illegal gains. South Korea customs import |
