The maternal and infant market has a good prospect. Indonesian e-commerce company Sirclo acquires maternal and infant e-commerce company Orami

According to foreign media reports, e-commerce company Sirclo has acquired Orami, Indonesia's largest parenting platform . The acquisition will integrate the platform's business, content and community services into one application.

Sirclo was officially established in 2013 and provides online sales solutions for enterprises. Since its establishment, it has completed multiple rounds of financing and has a certain position in Indonesia.

It is understood that the two companies are leveraging their respective technological advantages to provide digital services to brands of all sizes to increase awareness , expand product categories and reach more consumers.

With this acquisition, brands working with Sirclo can focus on the omnichannel solutions it offers as they enter the e-commerce channel .

Sirclo founder and CEO Brian Marshall said the acquisition will allow Sirclo to provide more services to brand owners who want to enter the online market .

Orami owns an online shopping website that helps well-known brands sell products needed for mothers and babies . Sirclo and Orami can work together to help brands sell online in a more strategic , scalable and efficient way.

Currently, the two companies have served more than 100,000 brands , including micro , small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and multinational corporations , and have reached millions of consumers in 34 provinces in Indonesia.

In 2020, Sirclo recorded a 4-fold surge in transaction volume due to changes in consumer behavior during the COVID-19 pandemic , and effective financial management enabled Sirclo to be in an operationally profitable state by the end of 2020, with a total turnover of IDR 3.3 trillion.

Orami is the only parenting platform that can combine commerce , content and community in one system . Orami is also involved in the most visited vertical industry in Indonesian e-commerce, with more than 5 million monthly active users.

Sirclo has the technology and infrastructure capabilities to enhance enabler service capabilities for brand owners in the category and connect with more consumers.

This synergy between Orami and Sirclo can also accelerate Orami's growth while continuing to meet the needs of brands and consumers.

Overall, the merger of the two companies is intended to provide momentum to licensees of individual brands, allowing them to focus on product development, while Sirclo strengthens its end-to-end sales process.

In a country like Indonesia, where the population structure tends to be younger, the maternal and infant market holds a lot of business opportunities. Perhaps in the future, more cooperation between companies will become the general trend.
