It is reported that this is a new program jointly launched by DED's Business Registration and Licensing Department and Amazon to support DED trade license holders by providing interactive online learning content to help them grow in the digital economy.
The program covers the course content of Amazon Seller University, including a series of training videos and resources to help sellers master key tools and applications, build their own brands, and expand their businesses through Amazon to reach more customers.
Omar Al Mehairi, a staff member of DED , said: "In addition to maintaining economic sustainability, DED also provides solutions to facilitate businesses doing business in Dubai and expand growth." The move aims to accelerate the implementation and growth of e-commerce initiatives and promote innovation and technological integration in the local business community.
Ronaldo Mouchawar, vice president of Amazon in the Middle East and North Africa, said: "Supporting small and medium-sized enterprises is a fundamental part of Amazon's work and an extension of our customer-centricity." In addition, third-party sellers account for more than half of Amazon's total global sales, and many of these third-party sellers are small and medium-sized enterprises.
Ronaldo added: “We have confidence in the potential and capabilities of Dubai’s startups and through collaborations like this, we hope to accelerate their entrepreneurial journey with all the tools and retail expertise we can offer.”
In addition, Amazon will open a special section on its UAE website to showcase products from DED trade license holders.
Once these businesses register as Amazon sellers, they will have access to Amazon account managers who will work closely with them to provide strategic advice and insights to help them maintain and grow their business.
The Dubai Department of Economic Development (DED) is a government agency entrusted with developing and promoting the UAE economy. DED trade licenses are issued by the department to allow freelancers to conduct business activities from their place of residence in Dubai as well as online or on social networks. middle East |
