As the temperature gradually rises, what items are in Russians’ shopping carts?

Russian fashion e-commerce Lamoda studied the changes in demand for goods as spring temperatures in Moscow warmed from March 14 to 16. The results showed that sales of rubber rain boots in the Russian capital Moscow increased 22 times compared with the same period last month, and sales of windbreakers increased 3.2 times.

From March 14 to 16, the most popular item among both female and male consumers was long rubber rain boots, with sales increasing 13 times year-on-year , while sales of mid-top rain boots increased 2.5 times and low-top rain boots increased 2 times. From Lamoda's official website, the rain boots sold are all fashionable and have a sense of design.

In addition, some half-season footwear is also in high demand. Lamoda data shows that the sales of loafers increased by 2.6 times, the sales of moccasins increased by 1.8 times, and the sales of sneakers increased by 1.6 times. These shoes are more suitable for wearing in early spring, and they are convenient and comfortable.

Climate warming has not only prompted Russians to update their shoe cabinets, but also their wardrobes , with Russians increasing their spending on clothes by one-third. The most popular product among female consumers is windbreakers, with sales increasing by 3.2 times. Male consumers prefer some half-season jackets, with overall sales increasing by 2.2 times.

This analysis is very similar to the results of a previous survey by Russian classified advertising website Avito, which showed that the overall demand for outerwear among these two consumer groups increased by 39% compared with the same period last year.

Among them, Russian women's favorite purchases in spring are coats, leather jackets, parkas, windbreakers and jackets, while men's favorite purchases are leather jackets, jackets, coats, baseball jackets and denim jackets.

According to Lamoda's research, Russians not only buy new clothes for themselves, but also for their children. In the children's clothing category, the most popular overalls and windbreakers saw their sales increase by 13 times and 12.4 times respectively.

As for accessories , the most popular item was the peaked cap, with sales increasing 4.6 times from the previous month. Meanwhile, sales of headbands and wide-brimmed hats increased 3.5 times and 2.9 times, respectively.
