Quick Look! The Types of E-Commerce That American Consumers Are Most Annoyed By

With the development of e-commerce, consumers' demand for online shopping is also gradually upgrading. Usually, consumers will judge whether to buy products through this online retailer based on the appearance of the online store .

According to Chain Store Age , a survey of 2,000 American adults who have purchased goods online through e-commerce software provider Shogun in the past six months showed that six in ten, or 59%, of the respondents said that an e-commerce website or application that looks rough or unsafe is " very annoying " and will "destroy the transaction . "

Websites/apps that look ugly or are unsafe were the most annoying aspects of online shopping , while 43% of respondents said social ads were "very annoying" or "unacceptable."

In addition, consumers also said that the main annoyances of online shopping include :

1. The website or app loads slowly

2. Too many emails from retailers /brands

3. The website or app is difficult to navigate on a mobile device

4. You have to go through too many pages before you can click to buy

5. Too few product images or poor quality

6. The website or app requires a purchase

7. Too few reviews

8. Pop-up Help Chatbot

At the same time, respondents also said they were more likely to encounter deal-breakers when buying products directly from brand websites or high-end apps than when shopping from large retailers .

These included : respondents often encountered websites or apps that didn't remember their payment / shipping information , 34% of online brands had this problem, 33% of brand websites and apps had a rough appearance /looked unsafe, 33% of brands lacked product reviews , and 30% of brands were difficult to browse and navigate via mobile devices .

In contrast, large online retailers have relatively few such problems. The survey shows that 19 % of large retailer websites or applications do not remember consumers ' payment / shipping information , 14% of large retailer websites and applications are rough /unsafe, 16 % of large retailers lack product reviews , and 13% of large retailers are difficult to browse and navigate through mobile devices .

In summary, the first impression of an e-commerce website has a great impact on consumers. If you are working with a large retailer, sellers should choose an e-commerce website with strong comprehensive strength and high consumer satisfaction. For sellers who are independent brands and have independent online channels, building a high-quality website /app is very important for consumers.
