According to foreign media reports, British fashion retailer Monsoon Accessorize announced a partnership with leading digital commerce agency Astound Commerce to create a modern , agile and fast online platform for its brand to strengthen its omnichannel sales and cope with the rapid e-commerce of the global fashion retail industry .
Monsoon was founded in 1973 and the first Accessorize store opened in 1984. Monsoon and Accessorize together operate 157 retail stores in the UK and the Republic of Ireland and more than 460 stores internationally, selling uniquely branded women's and children's clothing and accessories .
As consumers increasingly shop online , Monsoon Accessorize made a strategic move to grow its e-commerce business . Central to the digital transformation initiative was the need to upgrade from a legacy e-commerce platform that lacked the essential features needed to serve modern customers.
As the old platform upgrade was costly and the daily management of the website was onerous, product uploads and content management were time-consuming and slow to implement. Astound Commerce configured and integrated Salesforce Commerce Cloud with Monsoon Accessorize’s existing CRM platform and its order management system to drive single customer review, marketing attribution, on-site personalization, click-collect, and ship from store capabilities .
At the same time, the new platform also integrates third-party technologies, including Zendesk's real-time chat , Curalate's visual commerce tools , and Cybersource 's frictionless payment to drive customer engagement and conversion , enable social shopping , and facilitate the purchase of products displayed in user-generated content. The multiple tools are integrated together to create a scalable e-commerce platform.
It is reported that within just two months after the platform went online , the website 's mobile traffic increased by 18% . On the new platform, customers can enjoy more complete services and a more welcoming online shopping experience.
