Yesterday, Polish e-commerce company Allegro announced that they are building a new logistics center in Warsaw, the capital of Poland. After completion, the center will be used to process transaction orders from platform sellers , including goods storage, express packaging and goods transportation.
It is reported that more than 66 million parcels have been delivered on Allego, with delivery time within 1-2 days. But Allego hopes to further improve logistics efficiency in 2021. One of the plans is to launch a service that allows merchants to store, package and transport parcels through dedicated logistics centers.
Grzegorz Czapski, Head of Business Development at Allego , said: “Sellers on our platform want their parcels delivered quickly. Although we have already implemented ‘ fast delivery ’ and ‘ same-day delivery ’ through PickPack and X-press Couriers, we are not stopping there. We plan to launch a new service in the coming months.” The new logistics center has an automated operation mode Allego decided to build its logistics center in Warsaw's A2 Park and successfully signed a lease agreement. The logistics center covers an area of 36,500 square meters, of which 33,500 square meters are used for order processing, while nearly 2,800 square meters will be dedicated to office and leisure to ensure comfortable working conditions for employees. By then, Allegro Logistics Center will have many automated operation modes, such as advanced warehouse management systems, delivery machines and scanners, which will ensure the control of goods at every stage of warehousing, speed up and reduce the processing costs of orders. In addition, the target number of employees for the new logistics center is 1,200. They have effectively planned warehouse space and social space to maximize the safety of employees during the epidemic. Allegro Launches Multiple Delivery Initiatives It is reported that in order to ensure the stability of delivery time, Allegro launched a fast delivery plan as early as January 4. When their goods reach the hands of customers on the same day or the next day, Allegro will refund part of the cost to the seller. From September 2020, shoppers can see the estimated delivery time on Allegro and receive the express delivery easily. Since November, sellers on Allegro Smart can accept orders even on Saturdays and even implement the rule of cash on delivery. Allegro has also launched other solutions to help sellers sell more easily on the platform, such as Allegro's Send tool, which allows sellers to select multiple transporters to ship goods directly from the platform, helping merchants save time. logistics Cross-border e-commerce market Allegro |
