Development History

-In 1966, some banks formed the Interbank Card Association;

-In 1969, ICA purchased the Master Charge name and its double-ring trademark;

-In 1979, Master Charge was renamed Mastercard;

- In 1980, MasterCard issued the first payment card in mainland China, the first to use laser anti-counterfeiting marks on the card, and issued the first MasterCard commercial card;

-In 1990, MasterCard established its Asia Pacific headquarters in Singapore;

- In 1997, MasterCard launched the "Priceless" series of advertisements;

- In 2001, Mastercard launched Mastercard Advisors, the world's largest payment consulting firm;

- In 2002, MasterCard merged with Europay International and successfully transformed from a membership organization to a joint-stock company;

-In 2006, MasterCard changed its corporate governance and ownership structure and was listed on the New York Stock Exchange with the stock code: MA;

- In 2008, Mastercard Europe merged with Europay France;

- From 2009 to 2012, MasterCard acquired Orbiscom, DataCash, Travelex's prepaid card management business, Trevica and Truaxis;

-In 2010, MasterCard established a new creative incubator - MasterCard Innovation Lab;

- From 2013 to 2015, Mastercard launched the Masterpass electronic payment platform, established a joint venture HomeSend with eServGlobal and Bics, and acquired companies such as Provus, C-SAM, Pinpoint and 5One;

- In 2016, Mastercard upgraded its Masterpass electronic payment platform, updated its brand logo, and announced the acquisition of Vocalink;

-In 2017, Mastercard acquired biometrics and behavioral analysis company NuData Security and completed the acquisition of Vocalink.
