Recently, the Amazon account suspension incident has received more and more attention, and the impact on more sellers has also surfaced. For example, a small home appliance seller in Shenzhen with annual sales of 6 billion had all its Amazon accounts suspended, and another large seller had nearly half of its sales affected, causing a tight capital chain. For sellers such as Zebao whose accounts have been suspended, the time for their accounts to be unblocked has also been delayed.
Amazon is currently strictly investigating all kinds of fake orders. In addition to the big sellers who were caught, some second-brush orders were also liquidated. The brand was implicated, resulting in the collective closure of a certain seller's company's stores, and employees faced a 30% pay cut or layoff.
It is difficult to return to the market after being blocked. 9 accounts with annual sales of 2.6 billion were closed
Shenzhen is a cross-border e-commerce hub in China. A seller that sells small household appliances and electronic products has an annual sales volume of about 6 billion yuan, of which 3.6 billion yuan is achieved through the Amazon platform. However, according to China News Weekly, in this account blocking wave, all sales channels of the seller on Amazon were blocked, and half of the company's cross-border e-commerce business was destroyed.
Wang Xin, president of the Shenzhen Cross-border E-commerce Association, told a story: "There was a big seller whose annual sales on Amazon were 2.6 billion yuan. This time, nine of his accounts were blocked, involving about 1 billion yuan in sales. This has caused problems with the company's capital chain, and the boss is in tears."
In addition to the big sellers at the top of the pyramid, news of second-tier sellers being blocked also continues to come in.
A senior trader in the industry lamented: "It's terrible. The closest I ever had to a brand closure was when my previous brand was shut down, and all the stores on all its sites were dead. Once we go back to the time before liberation, no, we can never go back to the time before liberation, all the hard work of these years will be gone." It is reported that the industry insider was once proposed by his former company to lead a North American team of 120 people. Naturally, the scale of the company should not be underestimated.
Judging from the current feedback, blocked accounts are rarely "released". The rumored recovery of big seller accounts is just a delaying tactic by the sellers to temporarily sell similar brands. In mid-June, ZEBO's parent company Xinghui Co., Ltd. announced that three brands under ZEBO, including RAVPower, were blocked. Recently, an investor asked about the account unblocking time, and Xinghui Co., Ltd. said that "the unblocking time has not yet been determined."
Due to this far-reaching platform rectification, almost all listed cross-border e-commerce companies have been asked about their operations on Amazon.
As the stock price weakened, Leckey was asked whether its Amazon store was operating normally. Leckey said that the company has always attached great importance to compliance operations, and the Amazon store is currently operating normally and has not been affected in any way. XGIMI Technology also responded to similar inquiries and said that its Amazon store is operating normally.
Chuangyuan Co., Ltd., a listed company, is also an Amazon seller. Its two sub-brands, American Zhiyuan , "PAPERAGE" and "The Daily Paper", mainly sell Amazon fashion stationery and household products. The main office stationery products are listed on many Amazon best seller lists. Recently, Chuangyuan Co., Ltd. also responded to questions and said that the company's Amazon platform operations are normal.
Amazon is still cracking down on fake orders amid the ongoing account suspensions. Some sellers, after being caught for fake orders for the first time, are willing to take the risk of fake orders for the second time.
Second brushing leads to the failure of all brands , the company cuts salary by 30% or lays off employees
Recently, some sellers said that they were caught by Amazon for double-checking, resulting in heavy losses for the company.
Industry insider @Helan Cuihua reported : "My friend's company was hit with a second purchase, and all the company's stores were closed, no one was spared."
This company is located in Longgang, Shenzhen, and has 50-60 employees , including 30 people in the operations team, and the scale is getting smaller and smaller! After the store was closed, the company had to cut salaries by 30%, or just let the employees go. The person further said. Salary cuts and layoffs, almost every seller whose account was closed had to go this way.
There are other sellers in the industry who have received the same news. A friend's company was also blocked because of its second-brush brand. This company has only a few people and is relatively small in scale. The boss is still comforting his employees.
The second time I was caught, all my stores were closed. This wave of operations is really bold. If you have been warned or had your account blocked for fake orders, why do you still violate the rules?
According to a senior Amazon seller, in the 3C category, if you don’t fake orders and leave reviews, the chances of leaving reviews are too low. Even if you sell 1,000 orders, you can’t have 10 reviews. Amazon reviews have a high weight, so many sellers in the industry will choose to fake orders. Even when they know that the platform is cracking down on this, some people still violate the rules because apart from fake orders, some operations simply don’t have a good method.
Since the end of April, Amazon has banned many accounts one after another. This strict rectification, which is said to be rare in a decade, is still ongoing. While strictly investigating fake orders and reviews, many big sellers have paid for it. The bloody examples are not enough to wake up the sellers. Some people are still operating in violation of the regulations and have no intention of stopping.
Sellers who double-brush are just hoping for the best, thinking they will not be caught by the platform. Now that Amazon has dealt a heavy blow, some companies’ stores have all been closed, leaving a mess. Sellers who double-brush are destined to pay the price for their actions.
Some Chinese sellers do have the bad habit of fake orders
Even though they know there will be a price to pay, some Amazon sellers still continue to engage in the bad habit of fake orders.
From some foreign media reports in the past two years, we can also see that some Amazon sellers have never stopped fake orders. Almost every once in a while, there are foreign media reports that American people have received some packages that have never been ordered, and many of these packages are mailed from China. Many people are annoyed by this, saying that it has disturbed their lives, and question how the sellers on these e-commerce platforms get their addresses.
A relatively large-scale report was that Chinese sellers were exposed to use seeds to swipe orders, and 27 states in the United States urgently investigated. The report at the time mentioned that officials in at least 27 states urged residents to report any seed packages that seemed to be from unknown sources and warned that these seeds might be invasive or otherwise harmful.
There is a gray and black industry chain behind such a large scale of fake orders. According to previous reports, a German company called AMZTigers claimed to have hired 3,000 testers for evaluation. Amazon sellers buy fake reviews at a price of 15 euros (about 116 yuan) per review. Reviews can be tailored to different platforms and can be changed according to the requirements of the e-commerce platform.
There are also many domestic agencies that provide fake order reviews, and some service providers have advertisements everywhere. Even though Amazon has cracked down on review violations and banned multiple big-selling accounts this year, these advertisements have never stopped. What's even more frightening is that there are really sellers who ignore the platform rules and find these service providers to fake orders.
There will definitely be a price to pay for violating the rules of the platform, and Amazon will not allow sellers to ignore the rules of the platform.
