What is WPC certification? WPC certification Review, Features

WPC (Wireless Planning and Coordination Wing) is the agency responsible for regulating wireless regulations in India. All wireless products must obtain approval from WPC before entering the market.

About WPC Certification

  • Any wireless transmission below 3000 GHz that is not controlled by humans is considered "wireless communication" as defined by WPC. These frequency bands fall within the scope of WPC control.
  • As the demand and use of low-power wireless communication devices for daily use grows exponentially, WPC continues to update and revise its rules and regulations to adapt to the needs of international wireless product market access.
  • Since India has two types of frequency bands: free and unavailable, wireless communication products whose frequency bands and output power fall within the control range need to apply for an ETA certificate from WPC. In addition, the holder of the ETA must be a locally registered company. In addition, WPC accepts RF reports from CE reports to WPC certification without providing samples and testing.

Certification Process

  • The customer prepares the authorization letter and relevant test reports;
  • NTEK domestic pre-examination;
  • Submit the official application for Indian WPC;
  • Issue certificate.

Required Materials

  • POA Authorization Letter;
  • RF test report;
  • User Manual.

Coverage

The product scope of WPC certification covers all devices with radio transmitters, including mobile (GSM or WCDMA) phones, wireless local area network (WLAN) devices such as Wi-Fi devices, Bluetooth devices, Zigbee devices, WiMAX devices, RFID devices, contactless smart card readers, and products that combine some other RF transmitters.

Testing costs

The WPC certification testing standard is based on the CE RED or FCC ID testing standard. The testing fee is charged according to the actual test items and testing standards of the product. Other certificate fees are paid according to the standards stipulated by the Indian agency.
