About smartstore

• When we founded A Place For Everything back in 2003 we had two clear goals in mind - to provide unique quality storage products and first class customer service. Committed to solving storage problems and passionate about organizing solutions, we opened our first store in the heart of Chester and soon we were welcoming customers from all over the UK and beyond.
• In 2006 we launched our online offering as 'aplaceforeverything.co.uk' - within a year our website orders had taken over our Chester store and we needed to find our own storage solution! In 2008 we acquired a new, purpose built head office with space to accommodate another store and enough room to house our growing team of 30.

Products of smartstore

• We strive to source our products as responsibly as possible, for example:
• The stacking plastic recycling bins are made locally in the UK and are 90% recycled plastic, unlike some we tested and rejected which were wastefully shipped from the other side of the world (and weren’t even made from recycled plastic!).
• 15% of global seagrass resources are facing extinction due to deforestation and sedimentation from agriculture and sewage runoff. Therefore, we insist that our seagrass baskets and wicker storage boxes are sourced sustainably. In addition to this, we work with niche basket manufacturers and local cooperatives to weave our wicker storage, which we believe is better for the environment, local economic sustainability, and allows us to focus on quality products.
• The wooden storage furniture comes from sustainable woodlands. Much of it is harvested locally in the EU and where possible we always insist on using FSC registered products to guarantee social and environmental standards.
