Yesterday, Amazon experienced a new round of outages, mainly involving the iOS system, affecting multiple outlets including the US, India, UK, and Germany sites.
The Amazon app appears to be down, according to some users around the world. According to multiple posts on Twitter, users are seeing a "CS11" error code when trying to access the app, and the Amazon outage has sparked new debate.
User A: The app closes automatically when I'm shopping. Please fix this issue.
User B: I can't access my account on the app, it just shows an error message saying there was a problem and the link takes you back to the home page.
User C: I thought this was an issue on the Amazon India app, but it looks like this is a global issue at the moment.
User D: What's weird is that it breaks on my iPhone but still works fine on my iPad.
According to data from Amazon's downtime tracker DownDetector, the outage affected multiple global sites including the United States, India, the United Kingdom, and Germany. Some users experienced the problem starting at 10 a.m. and peaked at 2 p.m.
Meanwhile, the data further revealed that 51% of users reported bugs with the app, while 32% were facing issues with the website, and even 17% of Amazon users were experiencing errors while placing orders. Some of the affected users on Twitter highlighted that the problem persisted even after reinstalling the app.
The e-commerce giant has acknowledged the issue and promised to fix it as soon as possible. "We're sorry that some customers may experience issues when shopping. Thank you for your patience while we work to resolve the issue," Amazon said.
At the same time, Amazon emphasized: "The cause of the error is still unclear. A large number of users have reported that Amazon's problems are concentrated on the iOS system, while the Amazon Android application runs normally."
In fact, this is not the first time that Amazon has experienced a downtime incident. As early as the end of last year, an outage of Amazon Web Services (AWS) caused a large-scale Internet outage; and last month, Amazon also experienced a power outage. Currently, the e-commerce giant is constantly updating the AWS cloud system, which may bring users a more stable consumption experience. Amazon Downtime worldwide |
