With Mexico's tax reform imminent, AliExpress reminds merchants to sign contracts as soon as possible to ensure business operations

According to information from Mexican customs and relevant departments, the Mexican government is expected to impose a 19% comprehensive import tax on cross-border small packages from China to Mexico with a value of US$0-2,500 starting January 1, 2025. In order to help merchants meet compliance requirements and safeguard operations in the Mexican market, AliExpress reminds merchants to sign the tax withholding service agreement in the merchant backend as soon as possible.

Merchants only need to click on the " Mexico Tax and Fee Payment Logistics Service Contract Address " in the backend announcement to complete the contract. Self-operated merchants who have not signed when the Mexican tax reform actually takes effect will no longer be able to sell in Mexico.

Overseas markets have become a growth opportunity that Chinese merchants are competing for. Latin America is even hailed as the last blue ocean for cross-border e-commerce. However, with the improvement of industry standardization, compliance requirements in major markets are also becoming increasingly stringent. Chinese cross-border e-commerce platforms are also actively helping merchants cope with this.

In addition, AliExpress will continue to upgrade its supporting services in Mexico and increase its marketing investment. For example, it will launch two major promotions in January and provide 10%+ codes to ensure the price competitiveness of goods and the business scale of merchants .
