AliExpress and Amazon become the most visited e-commerce platforms in Spain

Club Ecommerce and EGI Group, Spanish e-commerce service agencies, released a report stating that according to Netrica data , in December 2023 , AliExpress became the second most visited e-commerce platform in Spain, second only to Amazon. The other two of the "Four Little Dragons Going Global", Shein and Temu, ranked third and fourth respectively.

 

The report said that AliExpress has a wide variety of products and competitive prices, making it a popular choice for consumers looking for discounts and unique products . AliExpress has been ranked in the top three for many consecutive months.

In the past year, AliExpress has focused on improving the shopping experience. First, it launched the Choice channel based on managed services in more than 50 countries including Spain , providing services including free shipping, on-time delivery, free returns, etc. In September, AliExpress and Cainiao launched the " Global 5- Day Delivery " express product, which included four European countries including Spain, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, and Belgium in the 5-day delivery "free shipping circle", and used high-quality service experience to enhance consumers' willingness to buy.

 

In addition, in the prediction of the world's best e-commerce platforms in 2024 by the global seller resource website Webretailer , Amazon ranked first and AliExpress also entered the top three.

 

In recent years, China's "Four Little Dragons Going Global" e-commerce companies have relied on China's high-quality supply chain, and have won a place in the markets of developed and developing countries with their efficient product organization capabilities and ultimate service experience, and the scale of their overseas users has grown rapidly.

 

Looking back at 2023, the "Four Little Dragons Going Global" opened the first year of "full trusteeship" for cross-border e-commerce. Entering 2024, the cross-border circle has set off a new wave. In early January, AliExpress announced the full launch of "semi-trusteeship" to upgrade the logistics of self-operated merchants (i.e. POP merchants). Subsequently, several announcements were issued in a row for half a month, and "semi-trusteeship" support measures such as commission reduction, warehouse rent-related fees reduction, and early loan issuance were launched at great expense.

 

Industry insiders have analyzed that full hosting is not suitable for all merchants, and "semi-hosting" is precisely to enable these merchants to quickly catch up with the cross-border bonus period. Recently, the number of inquiries for AliExpress semi-hosting has increased fivefold, and many merchants with daily sales of over 10,000 have emerged. 2024 is expected to be the year of "semi-hosting".
