Product safety issues require special attention.
Recently , the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission ( CPSC) issued a recall report. The recall involves approximately 137,000 Lucid platform beds with square tufted headboards sold on multiple platforms such as Amazon and Walmart from September 2019 to April 2024. The price of this product ranges from US$150 to US$ 250 .
The recalled beds have wooden support beams and wooden support legs, and a white federal law label that reads "Made by: CVB Corporation, 1525 W 2960 S, Logan, UT 84321," the report states . The federal law label is located on the back of the headboard. The recalled beds " may sag, break, or collapse during use , posing a risk of falls and injuries to consumers . " The beds were manufactured between 2019 and 2021, and while production ended several years ago, the recalled beds continue to be sold at some major retailers.
The CPSC said that so far, there have been 18 reports of injuries and 245 reports of beds breaking, sagging or collapsing during use in the U.S. Consumers are required to stop using the bed immediately and contact Lucid to replace the bed frame for free , and write "Recalled" on the bed's support rails with a marker .
The recent recall is not an isolated case. Not long ago, the CPSC announced a recall of nearly 5,000 high chairs from Amazon . It is reported that these high chairs were sold exclusively on Amazon from February 2024 to March 2024, with a price of about US$70 , and about 4,760 have been sold .
The recall involves MJKSARE brand high chairs, model number H -601. There is also a label on the bottom of the high chair cushion with the production date in the format of "MM/YYYY" . In addition, the production date of all products is included in the recall.
The MJKSARE high chair was recalled by the CPSC because it poses a risk of pinching and falling. Although no injuries have been reported so far, the high chair violates several mandatory provisions of the federal high chair safety standard . It is understood that the high chair has a design defect, its legs are too wide, which may pinch the baby; in addition, the tray may detach from the product, causing the baby to fall.
In recent years, products sold on Amazon have been recalled many times due to safety issues , and Amazon will also face new regulatory pressure . The CPSC said that Amazon may need to take more responsibility for potentially dangerous products sold on its platform . Although this decision is mainly aimed at more than 400,000 defective carbon monoxide detectors and non-compliant children's pajama sets sold by Amazon FBA plans , other products should also be checked in time for compliance .
Multiple product recall incidents have also sounded the alarm for sellers that product safety and compliance issues are of vital importance and must be taken seriously. Amazon recall |
