Strict inspection during peak season! A large number of products are under review, and Amazon sellers have registered

As the peak season approaches, Amazon has begun conducting strict inspections on all aspects of the platform.

There have been continuous audits on product compliance in recent times, and sellers have continued to report that their stores have been closed due to non-compliance with CPC audits, and children's products are in trouble.

In addition, Amazon has also increased its review efforts on other categories. A large number of products have been removed from the shelves for not meeting the requirements . After submitting compliance documents , sellers are still facing the problem of slow review. There are many cases where "product review is stuck for 1 month or longer."

Under Amazon's strict inspection, there are more and more cases of suspected misjudgment, and the sellers who have been affected are confused.

CPC review continues! More Amazon sellers registered

As early as several months ago, Amazon had already begun to strictly check CPC certification. Now the storm of strict CPC inspection has arisen again. Recently, many sellers have said that their accounts have been blocked as a result.

Seller Xiao Zhang said that his eight-year-old store on Amazon was blocked. A few months ago, the platform asked for "compliance documents" and he uploaded the relevant information immediately. However, Amazon claimed that the documents were "forged or manipulated" and did not give any opportunity to appeal. It directly stated that " the evaluation of the submitted materials has been completed . There is not enough information to eliminate the violation at this time. "

Coincidentally, recently, the long-established store of seller Xiao Li was shut down due to CPC tampering . Now he is preparing to move warehouses. This year, he has completely missed the peak season ! Xiao Li said that Amazon called him some time ago and claimed that the product certification was suspected of being forged. He asked him to submit a POA statement to prove that the CPC test report submitted was authentic and to submit authentic documents. More than a month after submitting the information, he received an email saying that the store was permanently closed.

Amazon is currently cracking down on CPC fraud, and many sellers are taking chances, thinking that a small change will not be discovered. In fact, as long as the seller has tampered with the account, it is possible for the platform to catch it. Moreover, the platform has a long traceability period, and violations from several years ago may be pulled out for "retribution later." It is worth noting that after an account on one site is affected, accounts on other sites may also be implicated. Currently, some sellers have encountered the problem of "US accounts being blocked and Canadian accounts being deactivated" as joint punishment.

Putting aside the situation where the sellers themselves proactively provide adulterated CPC certifications, sellers should also note that CPC certifications provided by some laboratories are not recognized by the platform. Therefore, when sellers are looking for laboratories to issue CPC reports, they should pay attention to whether the laboratories are authorized by the U.S. Consumer Safety Commission. Amazon does not recognize certifications from some institutions.

A large number of products are under review! Sellers are misjudged

In addition to children's products, many categories of products, including car products, earplugs, remote controls, etc., have recently been subject to strict audits, affecting a very wide range of products. For a while, sellers were complaining:

Regarding the battery compliance of the watch, not only the third-party seller links were deleted, but also the self-operated links;

The product was mistakenly labeled as a "skin whitening product" and was removed from the shelves;

Sunglasses were identified as dangerous goods by the platform, and the problem has not been resolved;

Amazon insists polyester is a "noxious weed" when selling curtains

Selling children's training cups /drinking cups, the platform determines that the product contains pesticides or similar.

According to seller feedback, multiple sites including the United States and Canada are investigating product certification issues. One Canadian seller said that the product was removed from the shelves due to lack of ISED certification, and the goods in transit are likely to be unable to enter the warehouse normally. During the platform's large-scale review process, it seems that there are more cases of misjudgment. There are many cases where products are misjudged as whitening products, harmful weeds , radio frequency products, medical device products, dietary supplements , etc.

A seller of industrial absorbent pads said that the product was mistakenly classified as a "whitening product" by the platform. Despite repeated self-help efforts, he was still unable to resolve the issue and re-list the product. "The platform asked me to provide the safety and compliance documents required for this classification. Unfortunately, my product does not belong to this category and these documents do not exist at all..."

Another seller selling curtains said that their products were identified as noxious weeds in New York State. Amazon's email showed that although these products were allowed to be listed on Amazon, they were not allowed to be sold in New York due to New York State law, and sellers were required to update the product details page with the scientific and common names of the plants . " We did not sell plant products such as plants, seeds or fertilizers , and we emphasized this point when we appealed, but the platform's response was completely meaningless. "

Due to this wave of misjudgments, the ASINs of some sellers have been suspended, making it difficult to appeal; while some sellers have successfully appealed, "Check your listing to see if there are any sensitive words or the uploaded pictures contain any banned words. If so, delete them and re-upload them to appeal." People familiar with the matter said that if the product still has editing rights, it will be easy to appeal. If the seller does not know which sensitive words have been violated, he can open a case to ask customer service, and then ask customer service to help refresh it after the modification is completed.

Compliance review is too slow! Seller: Still waiting

The turmoil caused by the compliance review is actually more than just a misjudgment. After encountering the compliance review, a large number of sellers found that the platform's efficiency was too slow. According to feedback, the compliance review takes at least 2 weeks to 3 months or even longer.

Seller Xiao Liu is troubled by this problem. After adding a new product in the toys category, he uploaded CPC files, lab reports, pictures and other documents as usual. However, more than three weeks have passed and the platform is still reviewing it.

Seller Xiao Liu sells live products and has to wait even longer. "It has been two months since the GCC review of the compliance documents. Both the Chinese and English cases say they cannot help speed up the process. I can only continue to wait..."

Based on past experience, compliance review usually only takes 3-4 days, but now sellers are stuck in the "review", and their original plans are disrupted. Many things cannot be done, such as not being able to ship or put products on the shelves. Many sellers are worried that "I am afraid I will miss the peak season!" A seller who mainly sells seasonal products is even more panicked: If he doesn't ship, he will be out of business.

Regarding the slow compliance review, some platform investment managers and customer service said that the backend system is still being improved and the compliance interface may be delayed.

In view of the recent frequent audits, sellers need to adjust their work arrangements in a timely manner according to the current situation to avoid losses to the greatest extent. Sellers should also note that in addition to strictly checking for counterfeiting and other non-compliant behaviors in CPC audit documents for children's products, the same applies to other products that need to be audited. Sellers must strictly follow the platform requirements and provide true and accurate information.
