FBA lost goods problem continues to occur! Sellers: Lost goods rate is as high as 50%

 

Xiao Zhang, a seller on the US site, said that he has been using Amazon FBA for nearly 10 years. In the past, Amazon's logistics service was quite good, but this year was an exception. Recently, 10% of the goods shipped to FBA were lost, which is equivalent to one box of goods in the entire product box disappearing.

 

Seller Xiao Li was also affected, saying that the recent loss rate of FBA goods is nearly 50%. He shipped 2 boxes of goods, each containing 100 items, but 98 items were missing from one box and 88 items were missing from the other. After several days of feedback, 88 missing items were found, but the remaining 98 items are still missing. Since he is a new seller, he did not know that he needed to obtain an invoice from the manufacturer before shipping, and now he has no way to start arguing with the platform.

 

The above situation is not an isolated case. Lost goods happen every year, but this year is particularly severe. More than one Amazon seller said that lost goods have occurred many times this year:

Fortunately, some of the missing goods may suddenly reappear in inventory after a few months. Unfortunately, even if the products are found, they cannot make up for the losses caused by the previous shortage. For seasonal products, the blow will be even greater. " Some Halloween products have been lost. If Amazon finds them in December , these goods will become worthless! " a seller collapsed.

 

The peak sales season in the second half of the year and internal adjustments in Amazon warehouses are considered to be the main factors for FBA lost goods.

 

Yi Enjun learned that the 2024 Amazon Prime membership promotion will be launched globally from October 8 to 9 this year, followed by Halloween, Christmas, Black Friday and other promotions. Sellers are increasing their inventory, and the probability of FBA chaos has increased greatly. Moreover, Amazon has opened multiple new FBA warehouses this year. When sellers build warehouses, the background will automatically allocate goods to new warehouses. Sellers have more goods to transfer, and the problem of lost items has erupted, especially in remote warehouses .

 

 

No compensation after lost goods! Seller: Account blocked after claiming compensation

" My goods were signed for in July , but they told me some time ago that the goods were lost and they refused to pay compensation . " Many Amazon sellers said that despite submitting a brand /manufacturer invoice that met the requirements and all the details required by Amazon, the other party would only reply: "We cannot continue the investigation because the documents provided do not meet one or more requirements."

 

Xiao Wang detailed that the difficulty of successfully claiming compensation from Amazon has increased exponentially this year. He has a delivery certificate from UPS to Amazon, which shows that the goods have been delivered to the Amazon warehouse and signed by an Amazon employee. As a result, the package disappeared after being stored in the FBA warehouse for nearly 2 months. The results of the investigation conducted by Amazon showed that "Investigation completed-the contents of the shipment have been counted and confirmed." Since this is the final investigation result, he cannot query the difference of the shipment and cannot upload any documents to appeal.

 

Yienjun learned that regarding the FBA shipment discrepancy investigation, when providing information, many sellers, in order to avoid providing purchase invoices, filed claims as "manufacturers". In 2023, the possibility of a successful claim for this operation is still very high, but this year Amazon's audit has been upgraded, and there are almost no successful cases.

 

 

It is worth noting that there is a risk of account suspension when claiming compensation from Amazon. One of the sellers who was affected said that after a box of products lost most of the items, he initiated a discrepancy investigation with Amazon, and Amazon did compensate him in the end. However, one month after the compensation, Amazon said that the lost products had been found again. The key point is that after confirmation, these lost and found products were not its own products. However, Amazon directly determined that the seller violated the compensation policy and blocked the account...

 

The pan-European goods were not delivered to the wrong area! FBA charges are getting higher and higher

 

In addition to the risk of loss, Amazon sellers’ goods may also be delivered to the wrong area.

 

Seller Xiao Liu mainly operates the Italian site. This year, he suddenly found that some goods were always sent to the French warehouse, but he did not operate the French site. After checking, he found that Amazon Logistics European Integration Service was automatically turned on . After turning it off, similar situations still occurred.

 

The seller Xiao Zhang also said that he only serves the German site, but the inventory was inexplicably transferred from Germany to Italy. He has confirmed that there is no Pan-European or EFN.

 

Recently, many sellers have reported this problem. As a result, not only has the seller's goods been put on the shelves for a longer time, but the fees they need to pay have also increased. "I only do business on the UK site, and the inventory in Germany and Spain is 0, but I still charge 0.01 euros in inventory fees every month , and Spain still charges long-term inventory fees . " said a seller who was affected.

 

" What happened to Amazon warehouses this year ? The warehouse service is getting worse and worse, and the fees are getting higher and higher! " Xiao Liu also said helplessly. It is understood that the delivery fee of Xiao Liu's goods in Italy is 2.56 euros , and after being sent to the French warehouse, the delivery fee soared to 5.94 euros ...

 

In addition, the new warehousing configuration fees added by Amazon this year are continuing to eat into sellers’ profits. Many sellers said that due to the slow reception and listing of goods at Amazon warehouses, the shipments were deleted due to timeout, and ultimately the entire shipment was charged a high warehousing configuration fee.

 

In fact, Amazon now charges fees in all aspects of operations, such as configuration fees for shipments, storage fees for goods in warehouses, long-term storage fees for slow sales, low inventory fees for fast sales, disposal fees for not selling, advertising fees for selling, and now management fees for advertising ... Add to that commissions , purchase costs , first-leg logistics and other costs , and the profits left for sellers are getting smaller and smaller.
