What is Guaranteed Delivery? Guaranteed Delivery Review, Features

Guaranteed Delivery is a new feature that eBay will launch this summer, referred to as eGD. This feature will allow sellers to promise buyers a delivery date, while also allowing buyers to know when their items will be delivered.

Guaranteed Delivery Information

Guaranteed Delivery is divided into the following two types: Handling Time Guarantee and Door-to-Door Guarantee. Sellers can choose to participate in one of them according to their own circumstances.

Australia

Items with the Guaranteed Delivery logo are guaranteed to be delivered within three days. eBay said that if consumers are confident that they will receive the goods within 2-3 days, then they are 45% more likely to place an order. On eBay Australia, more than 50% of the items can be delivered within four days.

eBay Australia offers buyers the option to filter for 1, 2, 3 or 4 day Guaranteed Delivery.

If the item does not arrive within the time specified in eBay Guaranteed Delivery, the buyer can choose one of the following remedies:

Return shipping (paid by the seller); if the product has free shipping, the buyer gets a $10 coupon (provided by eBay).

Full refund of the merchandise price (paid by the seller).

eBay Guaranteed Delivery Initial Protection Plan

eBay will provide additional seller protection measures for eBay Australia sellers who have access to the Guaranteed Delivery service before May 31.

1. For top eBay sellers:

(1) If sellers choose to use the Guaranteed Delivery service before May 31, eBay will allow sellers to have a delayed delivery rate of up to 10% ;

(2) eBay will protect your late shipment rate for 6 full evaluation periods (March 20 to August 20) ;

(3) Starting from September 20, seller standards will be evaluated according to the requirements of Top Rated Seller.

2. For all sellers:

eBay will cover costs incurred due to late deliveries until June 30, including:

(1) Return shipping costs;

(2) Return label.

Seller Requirements

Ensure that at least 25% of your listings are eligible for eBay Guaranteed Delivery by May 31, 2018.

Conditions for Excellent Rated Sellers (eTRS) protection:

1. In the February or March evaluation, the seller needs to be a top seller.

2. The delayed delivery rate is kept below 10%.

3. The transaction defect rate still needs to meet the requirements of Top Rated Seller.

use

Buyers only need to click the Guaranteed Delivery button at the top of the search results page, and all Guaranteed Delivery listings will be displayed on the page. However, if buyers do not use the search filter button, the search results will not change due to Guaranteed Delivery.

Advantages

1. Increase exposure

eBay will add a new “Guaranteed Delivery” search option to help sellers who offer faster delivery options find new buyers with time-sensitive needs.

2. Improve customer satisfaction

According to the survey, delivery time is the second most important consideration for buyers after free shipping when making a purchase decision.

3. Improve seller autonomy

Sellers will be able to set different cut-off times for each weekday and set regionalized shipping rate tables.

4. More search options

Buyers will be able to search and filter items by precise delivery date.

5. Promised delivery date

Buyers can expect their items to arrive by the promised delivery date.

6. Provide protection

If the buyer's item does not arrive by the promised delivery date, the buyer will receive compensation accordingly.

Q&A

Q: In which regions will the Guaranteed Delivery feature be launched?

A: Guaranteed Delivery will be launched first in the United States (including Guam and Puerto Rico).

Q: How will buyers be able to search by Guaranteed Delivery? How will this affect the visibility of sellers' listings?

A: Buyers only need to click the Guaranteed Delivery button at the top of the search results page, and all Guaranteed Delivery listings will be displayed on the page. However, if buyers do not use the search filter button, the search results will not change due to Guaranteed Delivery.

Q: What should I do if the Guaranteed Delivery item is not delivered within the promised time?

A: If a Guaranteed Delivery item is delayed and not delivered within the promised time, the buyer can choose one of the following two compensation options:

1. Keep the item and get a shipping reduction or a $5 eBay coupon. If the item has free shipping, you can only choose a $5 coupon.

2. Free return and full refund (including the purchase price and logistics costs)

All Guaranteed Delivery customer service and compensation are handled by eBay (the seller bears all expenses or fees for delayed delivery compensation, and eBay will charge the seller for such fees or expenses in the eBay bill), which will not bring additional workload to the seller.

Q: If the delivery of a Guaranteed Delivery item is delayed, how can the buyer apply for compensation?

A: When a Guaranteed Delivery item is delayed, the buyer will be able to file a claim and select compensation options on the eBay page. These options will only appear if the tracking information indicates that the item is delayed. When a buyer files a claim, eBay will notify the seller through the Guaranteed Delivery assessment page (Seller Dashboard) in Seller Center.

Q:If the seller fails to fulfill the Guaranteed Delivery promise, what impact will it have on the seller's performance (Seller Standard)?

A: Sellers participating in Guaranteed Delivery will have to ensure a shorter order processing time, valid tracking upload, and a lower late shipment rate. If a seller fails to meet the Guaranteed Delivery standards, they will be disqualified from participating in Guaranteed Delivery within a certain period of time. In addition, all Guaranteed Delivery transactions will be counted in the assessment.

Q: If the seller chooses the Handling Time Guarantee and completes the order processing within 0-1 days, if the final delivery of the goods is delayed, how to deal with the resulting negative feedback from the buyer?

A: eBay will protect sellers and remove related negative logistics reviews.

Q: Can a buyer repeatedly request a shipping refund by filing a SNAD request?

A: No, sellers are protected from duplicate payments.

Q:When can I officially opt in to Guaranteed Delivery?

A: This summer, we will notify you when you can opt in to Guaranteed Delivery. Then, starting later this summer, buyers will be able to see your Guaranteed Delivery listings on eBay.

Q:Do I need to pay for Guaranteed Delivery?

A: No, buyers and sellers participating in Guaranteed Delivery do not need to pay any fees.

Q:Do I have to participate in Guaranteed Delivery?

A: No, Guaranteed Delivery is an optional feature. Sellers who meet the shipping standard requirements can choose whether to participate and use this feature.

Q:Can all sellers participate in Guaranteed Delivery?

A: Only sellers with a qualified seller rating or above and who can meet a series of requirements such as 0-1 day order processing can participate in Guaranteed Delivery.

Q: If I choose to participate in Guaranteed Delivery, do I have to make a Guaranteed Delivery commitment for all items listed under my account?

A: No, you can choose which items to list for Guaranteed Delivery and which not.

Q: If I choose to participate, does my Guaranteed Delivery commitment apply to all regions/areas in the United States?

A: Guaranteed Delivery will be based on the buyer's location and the location of the goods. Sellers who choose Door-to-Door Guarantee will be able to use the new shipping rate table tool that will be launched soon to specify their own Guaranteed Delivery coverage by region. Therefore, these listings will not be displayed as "Guaranteed Delivery listings" to buyers outside the specified area. For sellers who choose Handling Time Guarantee, eBay will calculate and display the estimated delivery time based on the buyer's location. When buyers are located outside the 4-day delivery coverage of the item listing, they will not see the Guaranteed Delivery option.
