According to Semrush ’s research data, Temu’s page views in the United States have reached 108 million. Recently, there is news that taking advantage of this favorable trend, Temu is expected to enter the Brazilian market in the fourth quarter.
According to foreign media reports, in August, the number of Brazilians visiting Temu exceeded 221,000 times. This shows that although Temu has not yet opened a Brazilian site, Brazilians are already very interested in this platform.
Erich Casagrande, head of marketing at Semrush in Brazil , said the data shows that although Temu has not yet been launched in new markets, Brazilians are very willing to learn about this new market; now it is worth paying attention to whether Temu will continue its success in Brazil as it did in the United States.
Although Temu has achieved such impressive results before it was launched, it is still far from Amazon's 3.4 billion monthly visits. Casagrande believes that in terms of target audience, Generation Z is the focus of Temu's attention; Temu follows the principle of low prices to sell fashion products so that young people can quickly catch up with the trend. In addition, the platform also sells other large and small categories. In addition to Temu, giants such as Amazon have never relaxed their attention to the Brazilian market. So what exactly is the "charm" of this market?
Brazil is the largest economy in Latin America and the Southern Hemisphere, and the third largest economy in the Americas after the United States and Canada. In the first half of the year, its e-commerce sales reached 80.4 billion reais, or about 120 billion yuan. Some institutions predict that driven by holiday shopping festivals such as Black Friday and Christmas, Brazil's annual e-commerce sales are expected to reach 185.7 billion reais, or about 266 billion yuan.
In addition, a joint survey released by the Brazilian National Confederation of Store Managers ( CNDL) and the Credit Protection Service (SPC) showed that in the past 12 months, 70% of Brazilians chose to shop online. Based on the Brazilian population, the number of online shoppers reached 117 million.
It is particularly noteworthy that among those who shop online, 74.4% of the respondents said that cross-border platforms such as AliExpress, SHEIN, Shopee and Amazon are their first choice for online shopping.
A recent study by PayU GPO found that the transaction volume of the Latin American e-commerce market will increase by 25% by 2027. Among them, Brazil and Mexico will dominate the Latin American e-commerce market, with compound annual growth rates of 77.2% and 68.2% respectively expected by 2027. Temu New Market Visits |
