Quality scandal! 8,800 products of Chinese Amazon sellers were recalled

The recalled ice makers were sold on Amazon from January to July 2022 for between $300 and $400.

It is understood that Far Success Trading Company is a trading company headquartered in Hong Kong, China, and its businesses include multiple businesses in addition to cross-border e-commerce .

According to information released by the U.S. Consumer Protection Agency, the metal blades of the auger in ice makers sold by Far Success may break, causing small metal fragments to enter the ice basket, posing a risk of cuts to consumers.

The recall report shows that the product name to be recalled is Gevi household countertop ice maker, the product model is GIMN-1102, and Gevi ice makers with date codes before June 1, 2022 are within the scope of this recall. Consumers can find the model and date code of the product on the product label on the back of the product.

Product information shows that the recalled ice maker is made of stainless steel and comes in black, white and blue. In addition, the ice maker also contains an ice basket, an ice scoop and a 1/4-inch water inlet hose. In terms of size, the product is about 10 inches wide and 17 inches high.

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission calls on consumers to immediately stop using this ice maker and contact Far Success Trading Company as soon as possible to replace the product free of charge.

The company also issued a statement to instruct consumers on how to deal with these ice makers, and said that it has proactively contacted users who purchased this ice maker. Other users who did not leave contact information can contact the company's after-sales staff for processing.

The statement also wrote that if consumers who purchased this ice maker want to replace it, they need to take a photo of the product label on the back of the ice maker and send it to the company's after-sales email address.

According to the Consumer Commission, Far Success has received 263 reports of blade breakage so far , but fortunately no one has been injured.
