Temu seller reveals that he supplies the worst quality fabrics

Temu seller reveals that he supplies the worst quality fabrics

There are always many questions about Temu sellers. Some sellers say they receive thousands of orders every day, but some sellers say that Temu is purely for charity and they can’t make any money at all.

From all these voices, it can be inferred that the traffic of Temu sellers is indeed large, but the profits are indeed very low.

Many sellers have previously reported that Temu has to verify the price before listing the product. Basically, the seller’s quotation will be "cut" by Temu, and a quotation of more than 7 yuan can be reduced to more than 1 yuan.

"If you can accept it, sell it. If you can't accept it, forget it. The platform must think so." said a seller.

Due to pricing restrictions, the profit margins of most Temu sellers are very limited. They want to give up but are reluctant to give up the huge traffic brought by the platform, so some sellers begin to find ways to maintain profits from the cost side.

Recently, a Chinese netizen living in the United States posted that he bought two children's swimsuits from Temu. As soon as he received the goods and opened the package, he smelled an unpleasant chemical odor.

"I don't dare let my children wear this kind of product. I won't buy anything from Temu anymore."

In the comment section, a seller revealed the "truth". The seller said that he was a swimwear manufacturer and usually supplied Shein and Temu.

However, since Shein only checks the price once, he will use high-quality fabrics and craftsmanship when supplying Shein. But since Temu checks the price every few days and always lowers the price, he can only use the cheapest polyester and streamlined craftsmanship for the sake of profit.

This statement caused a stir in the comment section, with many sellers saying that they had no choice but to do so under the platform's high-pressure pricing strategy. However, some righteous sellers condemned this, saying that they were both Amazon and Temu sellers, but the products they used were exactly the same.

From a third party's perspective, first of all, the seller's approach is definitely not advisable. Giving up quality for the sake of profit will cause consumers to gradually lose trust in the platform, which will of course affect themselves in the end.

From the seller's perspective, everyone wants to make money, but it is not a long-term solution for the platform to occupy the seller's profit margin in order to keep the price low. If they cannot make money, more and more sellers will start to think about ways to reduce costs, and the quality of the products will be even more difficult to guarantee.
